Whatever it is, it will bear no relationship to the actual time he’s here.KentishAddick said:Has it been confirmed how long his contract is for?4 -
Just finished the podcast with him. speaks well and wish him the best. Hopefully he actually gets some support or else it'll be going the same way as the rest that have tried3

So, Sandgaard said there was an external candidate they spoke to about being caretaker manger, but contract negotiations didn't go well (or words to that effect). Holden says in his interview that "It's been bubbling away on the background for a while".
Then there is no mention of how long his contract is.
Seems pretty clear to me that he is our "external" caretaker manager and that this is a temporary thing to bridge us to the completion of a takeover. Someone, probably the prospective new owners, have decided that we can't be going into the Christmas fixtures with Harness in charge and more experienced and safer pair of hands needs to be in pace to try and stop the ship sinking any further, otherwise it could be complete submerged by the time the takeover is complete.9 -
Cynic in me thinks Holden is only on a six-month deal. Wait and see I suppose.0

He even mentions in that interview that it’s his job ‘at least in the short term’ to get us away from relegation and looking up the table. The Red Robin said:

Maybe he is on a 6 month contract to the end of the season, and if he does the job well the new mob might keep him?3 -
On paper it's a win win for him. Another shot at management. A salary (hopefully). If it's a few months and goes well, he's knocked some heads together and probably backs himself that our squad should be closer to mid table than the bottom and that's where he can take us. If it goes badly, the place is a total madhouse so probably doesn't damage his reputation at all.The Red Robin said:Cynic in me thinks Holden is only on a six-month deal. Wait and see I suppose.1 -

Sounds like he has watched us a few times this season. A glutton for punishment, obscure scouting trip or he knew his chance was coming?0
-
I’m trying to feel positive about it but can’t help but feel concerned about how long the appointment took. What was the hold(en) up?0
-
But Ronnie said he'd been sacked 😂Crusty54 said:
he was on the touchline on Saturday.ForeverAddickted said:https://www.charltonafc.com/news/holden-scott-rodwell-and-warrick-appointed-senior-roles
Scott Marshall will continue as men’s first-team assistant coach
First time its actually been mentioned that he's still around, havent seen him mentioned since Garner was sacked1 -
15 days isn’t that long. We’ve only played one league game in that period.JaShea99 said:I’m trying to feel positive about it but can’t help but feel concerned about how long the appointment took. What was the hold(en) up?0 -
I don't think even TS is stupid enough to put our 22 year old Goalkeeper in charge of running the team!Exiled_Addick said:So, Sandgaard said there was an external candidate they spoke to about being caretaker manger, but contract negotiations didn't go well (or words to that effect). Was Jackett watching for him?0

thought he spoke pretty well, whatever the situation at the club - any new manager needs to be backed with a clean slate and I wish him all the best15

Has he finished as Perez's assistant on Shetland then?0

Exactly. Very focusedRedrobo said:
Really? I thought he looked determined and anxious to get on with it.ForeverAddickted said:3 -

So what? I’d say 15 days is very long to negotiate a contract, assuming that’s what the hold up was.Callumcafc said:

He speaks well - encouraged by that4

I think it’s just one of those things that when a manager is under pressure at a club, the vultures/unemployed managers start hanging around.mendonca said:Was Jackett watching for him?0 -
I found it difficult concentrating on that interview. My eyes were drawn to the rivulets of blood oozing out of that Charlton badge and I just kept wondering if this was a horror film of the death throws of Charlton.ForeverAddickted said:18 -
I noticed no questions about the owner/discussions with Sandgaard/ etc2

Reminded me of Gerrard.0

Yeah considering I spent up until just before it was announced that we were getting Dean Holdsworth, I’m going to consider this a winNug said:Just realised it’s not Dean Holdsworth, so that’s a bonus.1 -
Funny he said "particularly for the short term", or words to that effect.
Maybe it's until end of season?0 -
.....or maybe he meant that his job in the short term was to concentrate on turning it around2
