Driving twenty five miles in the dark, through snow, to a hospital during a nurse's strike while suffering from a heart attack would, in many people's view be 'taking a chance'.

    Hope you're feeling better.
  • Dan, you are clearly going through a rough time, what with the suspected heart attack, the dead cat and joining CL all in the space of a few days.

lets hope things wind up soon.

    The punchlines need work...
  • Truly I am telling you the truth. My cat Teddy died last week and I had a treacherous journey through the snow to the nearest hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack.

  • Why didn’t you call an ambulance?
    for you not Teddy (rip)
  • Something not quite right me thinks
  • There was a nine hour wait for an ambulance.
  • Hmm...
I live on my smallholding in the middle of nowhere.

One of my cats had to be put to sleep on Wednesday. She was 17. All very emotional having to hold her whilst the vet put her to sleep. My other cat is suffering from separation anxiety. Is looking for her and constantly crying. Who’d have thought losing a cat would be so upsetting

I can totally understand where you’re coming from.We have two other cats and Suzie has not been right since last week. She’s not eating and just wanders around everywhere looking for Teddy.Time will be the healer for both of us.

Hmmmm, you were unlucky.  I have not heard this before of the emergency services saying how long it will take to attend.
  • Hope you're doing ok there Dan. Charlton life is a great connection to the outside world when times are tough.

We have our share of village idiots but they are mostly harmless and best ignored.
  • Losing a fur baby is so hard.
Sending love to both Dan & Dickie.

    Mind yourself Dan ♥️

Suzie is the other cat? Or someone you live with?
  • Suzie is a cat.
  • I though you said “was”
