Feel like for every Stam, Bergkamp, Van Nistelrooy etc that turns out to be class, there's two players that ripped it up in the Eredivisie then turned out to be our of their depth over here.

Really didn't see that one coming at all. Thought United were nailed on to sign him. Gives Liverpool even more attacking quality, although aren't Diogo Jota and Diaz out long term?

They are, quantity wise they only brought in Nunez in the summer and lost 3 - Mane, Minamino and Origi so I thought they were 1 short. It probably didn’t need to be anyone special but the injuries have forced their hand. Looks a good signing and a very reasonable sum of money.
Seemed nailed on he was going to United but Liverpool apparently swooped in and got a deal done in less than 24 hours.
As NLN said above signings from the Dutch league can be hit and miss but at the price they're paying it certainly seems like a good deal, especially when compared to the 80m that United paid for Antony.

Rumour has it that Man Utd still discussing the fee and Liverpool rocked up and just paid it. Apparently the player didn’t care which Club he signed for as long as top six and the wages. It won’t stop him kissing the badge when he scores his first goal though.
Its amazing how the big clubs identify an issue in their team and then go recruit the best player available to solve that problem by offering hard cash as opposed to offer cast off squad members in a swap deal with a set of training cones thrown in as a sweetener.
