Looking back

George Lapslie 2 assists this evening. Just saying. He never let us down.

At the Huddersfield away game he looked like a fish up a tree.

League 2 player and probably not as good as some of the league 2 players we signed.

    He has nice bouncy hair.
He’d be first on our team sheet at the moment, that’s how bad we are .
  • Also saw that Alfie Doughty scored one and had an assist in a 3-0 Luton win at QPR.

The one he scored was quite special

Josh Davison and Omar Bogle have 7 goals in league 2

    So perspective means everything

I quite liked Davison and think that he might have progressed with us.
Bogle was one of the worst strikers that I have ever seen.

Bit like everyone wanted Wiredu back after he got three goals, and seven assists for a struggling Colchester side last season - Has just the one assist, and has only played 13-games for Fleetwood this time round.

Much more annoying! Two players, Doughty and Lockyer should both have been at Charlton longer than they were.

Deji Oshilaja is someone affordable, who would have been handy to have to cover the defensive shortages. Popped in a few goals this season too for Burton.

Could do with him next season then
  • Shouldn't have let Purrington or Washington leave without replacing them with.

If only we had had the foresight not to sell him!

    Lapslie or McGrandles?

So many of our fans seemed happy for them to go.

    More fool them.

Super Purry Animal was the "steady Eddie" left-footed left-back that we've been missing this year and he'd get forward occasionally to put in a half-decent cross.

Washy was a player who did all the running so that Stockers didn't have to. He'd chase those lost causes (you know, the aimless hoofs upfield from a panicking defence) that could cause a mistake from the oppo defence. He may not have the "official" assist stats to show for his effort but he'd have been involved in the build-up play of a lot of our goals over recent seasons.

God, I miss the pair of them :(

You're right, didn't really understand why at the time and certainly not now, especially Purrington...he even grabbed a few goals when playing wing back.

I wasn't one of them, but those that were happy, were happy on the basis that we would get better and the reality was we got neither a forward or a left footed left back.
