FFS 2023 is turning out to be as crap as 2022. RIP Alan Rankine, the musical heart of the Associates, up until the end of the majestic ‘Sulk’ era.

The Associates were just about my favourite group around 81 going into 82 so sad to hear this.
RIP Alan

RIP Alan. Just love the keyboard sound on Party Fears Two, still listen to Billy McKenzie's soaring vocals regularly over 40 years on. Rankine & Mackenzie were the perfect albeit brief pairing. Sad news.
