Thanks for all the updates from those who were there. Did anyone bring up set pieces?
No, although I do know under Garner, Hayes was in charge of the set pieces and he was a bit embarrassed that we'd hardly scored from them (probably late October).
Holden had another player who seemed to be "not right". He found out the lad had a massive electricity bill to pay, because he didn't know he had under floor heating and it had been on all year.
This is a funny story, but it does also serve as a reminder that footballers are humans and vulnerable to the same stresses and potential distractions in life the as the rest of us, especially at lower levels where the money can still be good but is not necessarily so good that you never have to think about it and can't get into trouble financially.
When Holden was manager at Oldham, a player turned up for training drunk. Holden wasn't sure how best to deal with the player, as he may have all sorts of problems he might need help with. He rang Big Sam for advice.
Big Sam said SACK HIM!
…whilst drinking a pint of wine!!
Reminds of Lord Charles ‘Gottle of geer, Gottle of geer 😁.
Did anyone ask DH whether TS had stipulated the way he had to play if appointed? Maybe TS has dropped that approach as he realises we were deep in do-do, and he would be lucky to get anyone at all. I did hear DH say he was given a target, but then he seemed to drift into saying that the short term target was to get into mid-table asap- which was pretty obvious.
You assume TS had anything to do with his appointment

You’re assuming that Dean won’t be yet another of sandgaard’s sackings?
Not assuming anything but it's a bit rude to thank someone and at the same time suggest they won't be around in a few months even if we, and they, know that is a possibility.
Also getting guests is harder and getting people to pitch up is even more difficult these days so having found willing guests who draw a crowd we're going to try and repeat the success.
