I'm just hoping we go two up top so we can refer to the new partnership as

    Le Bon
    Lè Bonnė
    Leabone
    M&M

  • But but has he apologised?!
    He has
  • Macauley needs an early goal or two. If he has a run without a goal I can see it being very counter productive for everyone concerned. Fans and player alike.

    Welcome back Mcauley,
I wish you good fortune and sincerely hope you score the goals to get an extended contract with us.
  • Lyle next  :dizzy:
  • Welcome back Macauley.  Hopefully it works out better this time and you win the snowflakes over with a few goals.

Who knows how this will work out, the bloke is streaky and if he can hit a run of goals then it is a good signing. Hopefully we have made him pass an exam on the offside rule though as from what I remember he didnt seem to understand it previously
  • Not sure what some of our fans were expecting. We have no money to spend, Bonne on a free until end of the season is as good as it's gonna get.
  • My only issue is that if he does well he'll just end up leaving us for a competitor because we have no money.

Any striker to help us get Stockley out of the door is a positive.
But if he is rubbish, we are not stuck with him for another year or two.

  • "He's a striker who plays in L1 and the championship.  He isn't from Swindon. There's no transfer fee.  You work it out"

If the boy scores a few goals, tries hard, and puts in a few decent performances then all the other stuff will be forgotten. I don’t see tons of better options out there that are available in January and within budget so if you’re disappointed with the quality of this signing you had unrealistic expectations to start with, imo.

Personally, I think the “head turned” comment was just standard stuff trying to endear himself to his new fans - just like when new players here tell us how massive we are even though we patently are not. It wasn’t aimed as a dig at us. And the the tweet back in August, well…. if that got under your skin then aren’t you a precious little snowflake.

I can’t see much wrong with this.

It’s a contract to the end of this season only, as opposed to a 2 or 3 year deal.  If he wants an extension he’ll have to prove it.

Stockley is spent, and offers nothing, so Bonne is an upgrade

I’d imagine Leaburn is the main striker which means Bonne’s role may be more to cover and support

We’re not going up, but as others have pointed out, a couple of injuries and we could get sucked back into trouble.

We’d all like better, but again, we’re not fishing in a pond full of quality

  • Signed 6 months too late.
  • Scored goals for us in the championship , we got 2 million for him which was ploughed back into the team.... oh hold on !!.... Still we got him for free and he's better then what we have got... Holden will work his magic on him... I  wish him well.
  • I don't care what he said in the past, i just hope he's fit to play!

I seem to be in the minority, but I don't mind this as a deal to the end of the season.  If it works out, great.  If it doesn't we get rid.

    Good deal IMO
    agreed
  • Shame he left in the first place...

Reckon keeping him would have been the difference between 7th and top six that season
  • I’m in the happy camp with him signing, surely better than an unfit Stockley right now,6 mths to prove to himself & us that he has still something about him…he backs himself & we should back him while he wears our shirt again, prob not a lot of strikers that can walk (& not limp) straight into our team/squad at the mo…so step up Bonne ur time as come
  • But but has he apologised?!
Yeah, despite really not needing to.

    He has
    Not to me he hasn't

from what i can see, anything he has said, whatever that was, may have been aimed at a few individuals he was getting stick from - happy to be proved otherwise but don't ever remember him slating the club or our fans in any way?
