Fantastic block that saved what looked a certain goal. I hope we can hang on to him for a while. He is class. Clare: 7 He is so much better attacking from midfield and he should have had a well deserved assist. Kilkenny: 6 A bit light-weight and invisible, but okay. Dobson: 6 Tough game taking on the Wendies midfield on his own for periods. Looks like his mistake for the goal, but unclear who was supposed to be picking up who. Fraser: 5 A few nice touches but largely invisible. B-T: 5 Didn't do much. Includes extra half point for his shot that brought an excellent save. Leaburn: 6 Worked hard and looks so much more of a threat than Bonne. Should have taken his golden chance though, so minus a point for that. R-S: 7 Double marked most of the time, but still looked our main threat. Did well to get up after the two-footed tackle. Aneke: 5 He was a threat when he came on, but his fitness issues are such a huge negative. We can't afford the luxury of carrying him any more. I have a feeling that may have been the last we see of Chuks in a Charlton shirt (other than in the Castore brochure). Bonne: 4 The difference (negative) when he came on was clear. He desperately needs a goal to boost his confidence, but I just can't see it coming. All our fears are proving to be genuine.
Referee: 4 Another useless ref. Please can we have the female ref from last year again? She was excellent. He seemed to bottle decisions all afternoon and let the Wendies get away with all sorts of dirty tricks. The foul on JRS looked like a certain red card.
Payne: n/a Ran around a bit and messed up a free kick in a decent position by not even clearing the wall. Surely that should have been Fraser's free kick? I like Payne and think he creates stuff, but he needs more game time than that.
