If you think that Dobson or AMB or whoever deserved it over JRS because he's a Palace player then you are insane, not a single Charlton player better than JRS this season.
Different class and but for my drunken chat with him and his family after the Brighton cup win he may have left . no need to thank me , I just know my onions with football and spotted his pure class early and knew how to work his family … gift of the gab and man of the people after a few peronis
This evening just about sums our club up. I really do not understand why some of our fans support this non event. A mate has just texted to say the food was crap..
Try organising it mate, a lot of people enjoy it and don't expect Gordon Ramsey yelling in the kitchen. Just to have a night out with friends. Well done Jes, deserved

There’s no way someone who spends this much time publicly screeching about how much they hate a minor annual event has any mates
I didn't vote, but would have voted for JRS, a deserved winner. And as our POTY winners usually leave in the summer, it's sensible to give it to someone who'll definitely be leaving in the summer anyway!

What a lovely comment from someone who wasn't even there. The non event is you.
A Palace player winning the Charlton Athletic player of the year is in my opinion the ultimate concession of self-respect.
Accepting him as a loan player was a hit to the pride of our club but necessarily pragmatic.
Voting for him as POTY is too much for me - I don't care how good he may be. We can never live this down. It's an avoidably sad day in the history of our club. I don't understand how any Charlton supporter can bring him/herself to vote for a Palace player as our own Player of The Year.
I'm genuinely baffled by this. Doesn't it go against the correct definition of 'Charlton Athletic Player of The Year'?

I think he's just a young man who has clearly been our best player this season.

Very easily considering without his input we would be playing League two football next season.
Some sad comments by some Charlton fans on here I voted for Dobbo but will concede the best player of the season win and deserved the award - forget the Palarse connections and celebrate a truly wonderful talent who we had the privilege to see in a Charlton shirt It was a great evening and many thanks to Jean and Co for all your hard work in putting on a very enjoyable evening Live Love Laugh and Be Happy

I didn’t vote but if I had it would have been for JRS. He’s been our best player by a mile and without him we’d possibly have been relegated. 15 league goals in his first season is exceptional. I’ve recently when watching him actually forgotten he was a Palace player and just enjoyed his performances. I dislike Palace as much as the next man but to deny JRS the POTY would have been an injustice to him and it’s not his fault who he plays for. Well done Jes. Boo to you bro’.

Can you remember back to our last season in the Premier League ? Scott Carson won POTY that season....and he was on loan too. And fancy choosing a goalkeeper to win POTY the year we get relegated. He should have been sheep dipped, tar & feathered and then hounded out of town.
Back home from the POTY dinner. Many thanks to Jean, Ian et al who were involved in putting the event on. Had a very enjoyable evening and know a fair bit more than I went in knowing. No complaints and really pleased I went. I really enjoyed speaking with the Charlton Live team too and thanks for all of your hard work too this season. Looking forward to the Pod tomorrow 👏

Without him we'd have likely been relegated.
Top goalscorer and top assister. Most man of the matches and just all-round clearly the best player we had this season.
