Great game of football in the sunshine, what’s not to like. Better than a lot of the games here this season. 6-5 currently to Charlton, great games by Lisbie and Ricky Holmes. Shout out to the boss Deano for his goal and for the passing ability of big fat Pete
Ricky Holmes was outstanding, I’d forgotten how good he was, young Kevin Lisbie, much better than Bonne, could get in our current side, and he’s in his 40’s!
Good header from the gaffer, can now say he scored in a Charlton shirt, at the Valley.

How many times I have to say. Big fat Pete should be our midfield coach. Bloke was the best player in the last legends game.
Edit: actually thought he is better than our midfield at the time. Not hard I guess. Some fitness drills we have a ready made pirlo.
It was a very entertaining after with Charlton winning 6-5.
Ricky Holmes was named man of the match after some dazzling runs. Kevin Lisbie got a hat trick. Scott Wagstaff covered every blade of grass. Chris Perry was solid at the back and he covered Dean Holden moving up the pitch. His goal was a superb header. Dale Stephens was real class and Peter Garland passed and defended well.
Many thanks to Keith Peacock for getting the Charlton team together.
What a great afternoon, shame about the 18’s, good to see some old faces. I think Ricky Holmes was expecting a round of boos when his name was announced by BDL, judging by the look of his face and sigh of relief as he was cheered instead. He was one of a few that stayed after and chatted with fans, nice fella.
I’m expecting us to sign a marauding centre back that joins attacks at any opportunity, if that’s how Deano plays 🤣
Well what a great afternoons entertainment,I know these games are not everyones cup of tea,but it was really worth a better attendance.Amazed at Peter Garland,52 years old at least 3 stone over weight but did not stop running, and played some lovely passes,he even stayed on the pitch at the end kicking about with the kids.john Humphrey,Garry Nelson both 62 a credit to their age group.Holmes,Wagstaffe and Stevens looked as if they could run all day,Dale is only 33 retired due to injury, that is a loss to the game.Big shout from me for Pompeys Lee Bradbury, once again overwieght but his touch on the ball would put many present players to shame.Just love watching these veterans play.
Thoroughly great day in glorious weather. Suitably competitive and some silky skills on display. proud of my old man getting to walk the teams out again as he did 5 years ago - no idea if he’ll be with us on 5 years for the next one so it’s a particularly proud day for me personally .
we’ll done all who went and watched as well as those who participated. Excellent fun
Didn’t play. The Pompey manager explained that Tod’s kid was involved in a game for Palace 🤦🏻♂️ and he was there watching him, but that he wished everyone all the best for the day.
