  • Well OK I suppose.
He's quick, he's fast and he's got pace.
  • Good news, not surprised as his cup appearances show he’s still rated.

He’s still looked very raw whenever I’ve seen him, but I hadn’t noticed just how quick he is until he came on in the Cambridge cup game. That sort of pace is hard to find or expensive. I get why the club see potential in him.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets a non-league loan, otherwise he’ll be waiting until January, and probably needs a bigger test than more u21 football.

Interesting comments from Tom Pell, Rylah’s working hard at his game off the pitch and they see him as someone who can play in multiple positions.

A new deal gives him more time to develop and we don’t risk him leaving on a free or for minimal compensation if he goes and has a good loan spell later this season, or even has a few decent cameos in the first team.

And if it doesn’t work out here, with his pace we might get a bit of money in and some clauses if he does well and is sold for a profit.

Worth the gamble as this won’t be expensive for the club.
  • I think his longer-term future might be as RB.

Wing back maybe not full back. He isn’t strong enough defensively
  • From the very little I have seen he is very fast and has the physique to be strong.  So the natural attributes are there.  The question is whether he has the technical ability to make it. Not from what I have seen so far but 2 years gives him time to improve and grow.  Low risk bet by the club.
  • This is a no brainer.  May or may not make it as a first teamer with the club but new contract takes him up until he is 21.  By then the club will know his true potential and cost very little in wages to lock down some of our better youth players

Good decision from the club, so far he's looked a bit lost whenever he's stepped up to the First Team - But was one of the Academy lads that I was most impressed with, when he appeared in Pre-Season, and then had a pretty decent game against Stevenage.

Next step would probably be a National League loan for him.
  • Very impressive with the 18s and 21s, not so with the first team BUT he is still very young and has usually played in the disrupted or unbalanced first team XIs.

A loan maybe a good option for him.
