Always impressed by Pearce's analysis of the game when doing co-commentary on CAFC TV - a much more thoughtful approach than you might guess from his playing style.

Never fail to be impressed with the U18's, and the way they play with such confidence, looking forward to the final...against Millwall, would be good👍

Fantastic display , I hope there is a contract there to be signed for Patrick Casey because he looks seriously seriously impressive.

Has to be the best Charlton football at The Valley this season.

What a wonderfully entertaining performance from our lads. Some great attacking play in the first half and I thought we managed the game very well in the second period, retaining possession well and still carrying a threat up front. Sheffield Utd were never going to able to keep up the frantic pace of the first half and I can't remember them seriously threatening Kone's goal in the second half.

Every man jack. The whole team were very impressive and an absolute credit to the club and the coaching staff. Players like Mitchell, Asiimwe, Anderson and Rylah are obviously further ahead in their physical development than some of the other lads but they're all very talented.

Although Barnsley - runaway winners of the northern league - must be favourites in the other semi-final, it would be good if Millwall get through, as we'll be able to get to the game even if we're drawn to play away.

watched on the stream, intended to go to the valley but have come down with the lurgey.
So impressive from our boys, every one of them.  Wonderful team play. Having said that I thought Zach Mitchell & Karoy Anderson stood out and Kanu showed his quality at times.
First I’ve seen of Patrick Casey, looks a prospect.

What a brilliant team this is ! Huge congrats to each & every one of them but an especially big shout out to Pearcey.

He has them playing some sublime football and with such confidence on the ball.

Strong in every department too and playing for each other which is great to see...a real team.

Word has it that the final might be played next Friday but as to where, your guess is as good as mine.

Home to the Spanners ? Let's make sure The Valley is loud & proud if so.

Oh, and great to see BDL back on the mic !

Anyone know the current situation with regard to Casey signing a pro contract or has he been tapped up?

Same age as Rylah (turned 17 late last year) who recently signed his first pro deal. Not many sign pro as soon as they're 17 so I wouldn't worry yet.

Yeah I'm  intrigued  by Pat Casey, he's  not quick but seems to have a quick brain with excellent positional sense.

As somebody already posted, very Sheringham -esk, and seems to score a lot of goals.

Also, - the Jason Pearce interview was impressive.
A budding coach on the way up hopefully.
  • I think Casey is a natural goal scorer but wasn’t sure about his overall game. But that can presumably be coached into him. Goal scoring instincts can’t.

Thoroughly enjoyed the match last night. First half was imperious, with some cracking goals and excellent football. Second half was a great lesson in controlling the game and Sheff U never looked like getting back into it.
Really impressed with Anderson, Mitchell & Assiimwe in particular and we obviously think a lot of Casey to move Kanu to the wing. We had a couple of Sheff guys across the aisle from us and they were enthusing also about some of our play.

If the final is scheduled for Friday it won't be at Barnsley, as the have the 2nd leg of the play off semi-final against Bolton.

If the final is on Saturday it won't be at 'The Valley' as we have 'the legends' match against Portsmouth.

I hope it's not on saturday because I am meant to be at the Legends Game and I don't want to have to make the choice between the two

I'm not sure how they work out who's at home for the final, but if it's based on points in the season, then the game will be at Barnsley

We made the final of this a couple of years ago. Final was at the Valley v Wigan but Wigan got more points than us in the actual season.

So maybe they toss a coin?
