Depends what you do I suppose, but I am seeing more and more requirements coming out from clients where candidates (PM, IT Mgr, Service Delivery etc) need to be ITIL qualified as it does show you have attained a certain level / understanding and that you understand process from a formal perspective.

Whether or not doing the ITIL 3 course will have any added benefit, I'm not too sure as I don't know too much about how it differs to be honest.

But put it this way....Its not going to do your career any harm and may well benefit it.

So long and short. Yes do it.
  • I've done the ITIL Foundation course, and found it the most boring course I've ever been on...

However, it does look good on your CV
  • How much was the exam Medders ?
  • My firm paid for it, as they wanted me to do it. Not 100% sure, but I think the 3 day course, inc exam, was £600+vat
  • Through this lot, in their Holborn centre...
