Charlton Rejects

The news that Spurs have rejected a bid of £60m for Harry Kane and West Ham have turned down £90m for Declan Rice got me thinking, when did Charlton ever reject a bid from any club for any player? And if we have, have we benefitted from that either in terms of keeping a quality player or substantially driving up the price. Maybe I don't follow these things closely enough or maybe the press doesn't report on us enough, but I can't remember it happening. The last time I remember us saying no, was the day before we caved in to Chelsea over Scott Parker.

I think we rejected a couple of initial bids from Chelsea for Burstow before agreeing on a fee, it just all took place in one day

Yes, I knew one of them was JH, couldn't remember the other one. There was an interview with Humphs in VOTV and he mentioned it, also that Newcastle enquired about him. Think he wasn't too bothered with QPR, but was tempted by the Geordies.
