Agree, he looks the real dealSwisdom said:
This is because he is THAT highly thought of. He is 0ften compared with Gomez who was raved about at the club from when he was 14ElliotCAFC said:Seems like a long deal to give to a player who’s been plagued with injuries from a young age and not really been involved. Nevertheless, great news for him
Josh Laq will go far in that game once he finishes growing and plays regularly1 -
He is going to be a very powerful young man when he finishes growing.
Has a good attitude.1 -
Gomez was a tank from the moment he stepped on the field at Championship level at 17 years old. I don’t think there’s much of a comparison.
While Laq might develop into a very good player, he’s already 19 and so far is only getting minutes off the bench in cup games. Some of that will be due to injuries of course.
He might have a very good career ahead of him but I’ll be stunned if a top 6 side is banging the door down to buy him within 18 months.5 -
Great news to him signed up to effectively a 3.5 year deal before he’s become a regular in the first team.
He impressed me on a recent u21 stream. I had seen him the odd time in the past, but that game he really showed his ability and composure on the ball. Combine that with the physical side and you have a young CB with a lot of potential.
It’s going to be interesting to see how he progresses along with Zach Mitchell, who could also become a very good CB. It’s tough enough for them to break through in that position, but even more so with them competing with each other.0 -
I wonder if Zach Mitchell would be a very good defensive midfielder in the future.0
-
3 at the back suits young centre backs better than a 2, as they have the security of 2 more experienced CBs alongside them. Plus in a 3, you do need one of the CBs to be good on the ball, which suits Zach perfectly.3

Glad the lad go a few minutes at the end. Reckon he is going get a few more minutes (than just coming on for the last few minutes)?2
-
Good to see him involved on SaturdayJones clearly rates him, given his involvement at times in the First Team already, was a bit surprised when he didn't go off to Slovenia - Probably could do with a loan though (maybe next season) to really adjust to First Team Football.1
-
He actually played quite well at LWB despite it being far from his natural position. One decent run down the wing but then looked lost trying to work out what to do with it1

Good to see him get a few minutes, indeed with our defensive injury crisis in the last few weeks perhaps a slight surprise that he hasn't featured earlier in the season.2
-
The lad has added a decent amount of meat to his bones. He didn't look out of place in the side which though it isn't the biggest compliment at the moment is also quite the accolade being his last minutes have been against L1 and lower opposition.1
-
One of those who might have got a good number of minutes had we not been promoted - Ramsay likely would have been sold and that RCB/RB role is where Laq would probably fit in best.1

In his interview NJ said he was played out of position and he’s really a no.10.
so what is his best position??0 -
I think you're getting Josh mixed up with Ibby... Fijian Josh is primarily a right sided DefenderBournesnr said:In his interview NJ said he was played out of position and he’s really a no.10.

Jones did say Josh was a no 10 although he's a defender.ForeverAddickted said:

Fullah is more of a 102 -
I thought that too, but when I listened again I think he talked about Josh and then mentions Ibby being a 10.2
