I really like that we're signing so many of these kids up. Not all of them will make it in professional football, and even fewer at Charlton, but this guarantees them a couple of years to prove themselves, and gives the club some security should one break out and bigger clubs come calling.
I think that is right. Footballers have to start somewhere, and what is the point of an academy system if it isn’t to produce first team players? The challenge is management and balance.
