Those are Boris Buses that the mayor said were not fit for purpose and wanted to scrap them as they were too expensive to operate.
Not what Khan said, he made a decision that they were too expensive to buy, and there were cheaper better options to add to the fleet. Nothing about scrapping them.
all the superloops so far are seeing higher then expected ridership
Hoping to move to Bromley in a couple of months. Sundridge Park area
Lived there on and off from ‘64 to ‘70 or ‘71. Happy days! Have a vague memory of catching a bus from Burnt Ash Lane to Trafalgar Square with my friend who lived next door.
This new route may be handy for any fans who live in Sidcup, Bexleyheath & Thamesmead to link with trains from Abbey Wood to Charlton & the return journey especially next Saturday's match versus Portsmouth.

Great news I'll have to plan a few nights out in Thamesmead. Has anyone got any recommendations for places to eat/drink?
Snap, I saw an SL3 at Sidcup on Wednesday. Was heading towards the bypass which I couldn't figure out the route ( to Bexleyheath & Abbey Wood) Going via Bexley?
Would suggest the "BJ route" but I think that particular moniker already belonged to the N47 in the late 90s if my observations from trips home from the West end and The Venue in the early hours are anything to go on.
What a novel approach. Having less stops so the journey is quicker. What next.....having no stops to make it even quicker still.
Oh....thats called a CAR !!!
As a Charlton fan you should be ashamed not to know that they already do this with trains . I will explain to save you further embarressment, they are called "express trains" and even though they pass them, they don't pull up at every stop on the line, because there are some places that more people want to get on and off at than others. This is the same principal only using buses...

Yes, a bit like a car in terms of the speed of travel, but without the need to actually buy a car, insure the car, fill the car with fuel, worry about where to park the car, etc.
Great idea, eh? We'll put you down as in favour then.

Yeah but the downside is you have to go on a bus.
True, but if the bus driver gets caught speeding then you dont get the ticket! Would save you a fortune! ;-)
You can almost feel the desperation in Bromley to try and make them a little bit more edgier, oooh please link us with Thamesmead and we can say we’re at ‘the ends’’ of the line , it’s so tragic their lack of identity.

Hoping to move to Bromley in a couple of months. Sundridge Park area so not far from Bromley North......although not sure I'd want to go to Thamesmead thank you. Buses to Sidcup & B'heath are useful though.
There'll be no money left for buses after a few pints in The Crown mate

The residents get to enjoy leafy and plush Bromley easier now. I just hope they behave themselves.

The buses are being refurbished and will be around for quite a while.
