Sad news just received from the BBC that this lovely man has passed away aged 67.
George had been suffering with bowel cancer for the past 9 years - a battle he fought bravely but ultimately has finally lost.
Wonderful tributes from his colleagues & friends emphasising what a generous, honest, brave man they had the privilege of knowing.
