  • AMB: 6 don’t quite see how he’s being blamed for the goals conceded
ASIIMWE: 6 -1 for the error that lead to the third
    JONES: 6 done okay
HECTOR: 5 -1 for the error that lead to the second. Was a howler
EDUN: 6 looked dangerous. Should not be on set pieces ever again
DOBSON; 6 good first half, looked tired in the second. Should’ve scored at the end
TAYLOR: 5 looked rusty, but that’s understandable
ANDERSON: 7 solid. Good tackling. Tired towards the end
KANU: 8 MOM won the penalty and scored a cracking header
MAY: 6.5 looks a lot more comfortable with a strike partner
CBT: 5 greedy. Decision making wrong all game. The one time he got it right was when he got the assist for Kanu’s goal
Referee: 2 worst this season so far. Was never a penalty. Was 100% a red card, and only gave May a yellow card after the Port Vale bench started protesting. Awful

  • AMB Poor game
    ASIIMWE 7 Done good
    JONES 5 ok
    HECTOR 4 Terrible
    EDUN 7 Good signing
    DOBSON 6 ok game
    TAYLOR 4 was he playing
    ANDERSON 7 Dangerous
    KANU 7 Took goal well
    MAY Average
    CBT 5 Frustrating can’t shoot

    DJ 4 crap
    THOMAS 4 poor
    PAYNE 4 Hopeless

    REF 4 Inconsistent
  • AMB: 6 - left horribly exposed by his defence and there was nothing he could do about the goals. Changing the goalie is not the answer when we need to achieve some stability at the back, particularly when Isted has looked shaky
ASIIMWE: 6.5 - had a fine game, including some excellent combination play with Anderson. Was playing like a wing back with 3 central defenders, rather than in a back 4, doubtless under instructions. As a result, he covered an enormous amount of ground and was fatigued in the later stages when he made the error for the third goal
    JONES: 5.5 - looked ok
HECTOR: 4 - a diabolical error for the second goal and I see no evidence of him providing any leadership or organisational ability at the back. I have question marks over his fitness and commitment. He needs to come out of the side
EDUN: 6 - very good in the first half but understandably faded towards the end. Like a number of our signings, he is not fully fit. It's really a coaching and organisational issue, but - as good a delivery as it was - why was our shortest defender attempting to cover the near post for the first goal ?
DOBSON; 7 - put in a big shift as usual
TAYLOR: 5 - didn't do much on the ball or win it back. Too early to form a view on the player, given that he's playing his way back to fitness. I expect one of the reasons we acquired him was to cover the possibility of losing Dobson in January if we are mid-table (or worse) when it will be the last chance to obtain a fee
ANDERSON: 8: MoTM - excellent throughout and showed great maturity and vision for an 18 year old
KANU: 7.5 - his best 90 minutes for us
MAY: 6 - a couple of decent efforts on goal but picked up another idiotic booking - his third of the season. At this rate, he'll be suspended by early September, which we can't afford given our dearth of strikers
CBT: 6.5 - the final product was lacking on occasions but his pace terrified Port Vale. We are over-reliant upon him
Referee: 4 - I'm afraid that the standard of officiating at this level is usually poor and this guy was no exception

    ineligible but marks allowed
DJ: he looked surprisingly rotund for a professional footballer
THOMAS: not a good cameo but, in fairness, he is a central defender
PAYNE: I'm afraid he belongs in League 2
