If free agents don’t get picked up early they often play the waiting game and see if they can get more money towards the end of the window, if teams miss out on targets and are a bit more desperate. I think that’s how we signed him, as a free on deadline day

I think he is looking at the lower league one or league two clubs being realistic. Maybe a club like Wimbledon would take a punt.

His stock has risen since being a fairly peripheral squad player last season.  Not sure that many would have said he was below league 2 last year

I have never rated him but he didn't let the side down when he did have an opportunity at the end of the season. I'm sure he will get a club and I am sure it will be a league club but I think mid to low league one is the best he will be able to do.

Hopefully JFC gets a club too, such a shame all his injuries are catching up with him.

Can see him at AFCW, going back to MK or popping up at somewhere like Stevenage.
An ex MK Dons player going to AFCW. This would never happen
    Not a real rivalry

Good move for him but I’d have thought he’d have got a longer deal somewhere.

Agreed. Good club, but moving up north for a 1 year contract isn't what he would have hoped for, I imagine.

Doesn’t matter what the stats say in my opinion, nothing can beat the test of what the eyes can see. Watson is not a very good player and with Ramsay, there isn’t much point having Watson as second choice when you have Asiimwe as well. Let him go and either trust Asiimwe to be second choice or sign better and loan him out.
Good luck to him. The harsh realities of football when his next game after Wembley was the free agent trial showcase. But he got through it.

I'm surprised he didn't go to a smaller side. He's not awful but he's not great either. I feel like he is the beneficiary of good will on here , but that stems from our promotion season rather than his performances over his two years.

Of course he is, he wasn't spectacular but I can't think of time he ever let us down when filling in. He was a good squad player for us and I'm sure he'll go on to be the same for Barnsley.

If he didn't get injured so soon after Ramsay did I do wonder what would have happened. He would probably have looked better after a solid run of games, but we also might not have stumbled upon the Small as a RWB tactic

Couldn't tell you the game but I remember him switching off on one cross that led to a goal, Chris Gunter-esque. He was okay, not really anything more. Some of the replies to that tweet like 'top player' are a bit ott. Good luck to him.

Exactly how I view him. Solid dependable League 1 squad player that will never let you down but won't really stand out a mile either.

He switched off alot, decent on the ball and did a job sometimes but league one mid table is his level, good luck to him though on his new move.

The very definition of a meat and potatoes player

good luck to him up there. Decent enough player for league one mid table team but a squad player for anything more ambitious

A sound move for him and I think he’ll do well. Barnsley are a proper football club and if he grafts he’ll be appreciated. I personally think Barnsley might be around the playoff places this year.

It's just not how I remember it... He made 42 appearances in our worst season for 90+ years. He was central when we were awful and peripheral when we were good.
