Given current prices I don’t think that’s a bad deal

Really don’t understand why City are offloading Palmer to a rival 🤷‍♂️
City just signed Doku who is exactly the same age as Palmer and plays the same position that City have been playing Palmer.

Perhaps they don't think he'll be quite good enough for them. Chelsea seem to buy just about anybody. Did see that Chelsea were quoting £50m for Chaloba. Football really is rubber ducked.

Chelsea's spending under Boehly is now over 1 billion. Ridiculous

I don't see why Chelsea are paying all that for him. To be honest I'm not convinced he's shown anything to indicate he's all that much different to Noni Madueke who he often swapped with for England, and he already plays for Chelsea!

I like Palmer as a player but Chelsea is a very very weird move. Doesn't make sense to me.

Same reason Chelsea are selling homegrown players, counts as pure profit on their books. That and the Doku trasnfer pushing Palmer down the pecking order. Chelsea probably the only team that can afford him

£40 Million ish for a player who is not a first team regular is the answer .. Nunes coming in means his City 1st team prospects were even more limited ,,

This is all that is wrong in football imho.

Apparently Chelsea get a better payment in FFP terms by selling an academy product than players they have paid big money for. That doesn't seem like the right way around for me

They are stupid for not accepting that, £150m for a 31 year old is insane money.
Won't even miss him that much either with Nunez, Diaz, Jota and Gakpo. Could sell him for £150m and sign a top replacement for £75m

Yep currently it rewards selling on academy products rather than rewarding developing (and keeping) your own players.

    Really backwards.

none of those are right sided players though, all like to play up top or from the left
