Really don’t understand why City are offloading Palmer to a rival 🤷♂️
Perhaps they don't think he'll be quite good enough for them. Chelsea seem to buy just about anybody. Did see that Chelsea were quoting £50m for Chaloba. Football really is rubber ducked.

I don't see why Chelsea are paying all that for him. To be honest I'm not convinced he's shown anything to indicate he's all that much different to Noni Madueke who he often swapped with for England, and he already plays for Chelsea!

Same reason Chelsea are selling homegrown players, counts as pure profit on their books. That and the Doku trasnfer pushing Palmer down the pecking order. Chelsea probably the only team that can afford him

£40 Million ish for a player who is not a first team regular is the answer .. Nunes coming in means his City 1st team prospects were even more limited ,,
Apparently Chelsea get a better payment in FFP terms by selling an academy product than players they have paid big money for. That doesn't seem like the right way around for me
Problem for Liverpool is getting a replacement on deadline day. If they'd made the bid 2 weeks ago reckon they'd have accepted. Am sure Salah will be peed off as his measly £350k per week salary is nowhere near what he could have gotten with a move.

Yep currently it rewards selling on academy products rather than rewarding developing (and keeping) your own players.

That whole summer was completely bizarre.
Really backwards.
