That’s what I hated, in his interviews after the game he’d say something like “we should have been more positive passed the ball forwards instead of sideways more”, after standing silently on the touchline for 90mins when he could have shouted at the players to do exactly thatJac_52 said:JaShea99 said:Maybe I’m in the minority but as nice as genuine passion is to see, I’m not really that bothered what our manager does during the 90 minutes, as long as we win. Also, just like when managing people in most industries, if you’ve prepared and set up effectively in the first place, you shouldn’t have to bark instructions and scream while your team are carrying out their role.
You shouldn't have to but that doesn't mean you shouldn't when your team is clearly not performing their role and wilting in front of your very eyes on a weekly basis.3 -

The loan manager there, which ensures we won't get anyone decent from United!3

Hope he doesn't buy Connor Coventry for United. Can't afford to lose our best player, even for £10m7

Holden got a cushy job in Saudi and now Appleton gets a gig at Man Utd. Yet we're still stuck on league one!2

People laugh but he’s had quite a successful career as part of Premier league backroom teams. He’s not a good manager but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a good coachScoham said:https://thedeck.news/manchester-united-look-to-secure-former-charlton-athletic-and-lincoln-city-man/According to Alan Nixon, Appleton is joining Man Utd’s backroom team.3 -

Devastating. How ever will we cope without contributions from the likes of Davide Petrucci and Dylan Levittkillerandflash said:The loan manager there, which ensures we won't get anyone decent from United!3 -
It's the right kind of role for him, smacks me as a middle manager who should never be allowed into senior roles1

Q. Micky Apples, why were you quiet when head coach during Matches 🤔
A. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare. 🙄

My neighbour had a bucket outside her front door with a sign saying ‘Free Apples’
I didn’t even know he was in prison!7 -
As a geezer Holden seemed very likeable, but as a manager it did not work for him.BigRedEvil said:Holden got a cushy job in Saudi and now Appleton gets a gig at Man Utd. Yet we're still stuck on league one!
However, he has hit the jackpot and no doubt has a mind blowing contract. Good luck to him.1 -

Awful manager9
-
Thank god we dont have to play Shrewsbury for the rest of the season, hopefully forever!!
You know what would happen if we did in terms of the result now0 -
What a difference between him and Jones.Danny Addick said:Awful manager
Appleton talked about other managers faking passion. It became clear it was just a job to him. Nothing wrong with that in general, but not what you want in the manager of your football club and the players.
Jones has recently spoken about the sacrifices he and the players have to make. It’s a huge part of his life and you can see he genuinely wants to achieve success here. He wants players who have that same hunger too.
