I will be there on Tuesday along with about 3000 die hards girding my loins for what is undoubtedly a relegation battle.
I doubt very much if our survival matters as much to Mr Appleton as it does to me.

With the movement in this window, our squad is looking a lot more attractive than it did when we were managerless in August. I'm hoping we'd be able to attract at the very least an upgrade on MA (fucking low bar I know), but then are they going to want to come seeing our turnover...

Who knows really. But he's got to go. A new manager bounce would keep us up even if he turns out to be utterly useless when the bounce is over.

Get Michael duff in now. Knows how to coach this formation, got Alfie May scoring at Cheltenham, proven at this level
    100% this.

Worked with Isted too so another player who he will know.

Changed to a 3-5-2 in his first season with Cheltenham, is a good coach, and will know how to get the best from this formation.

Let’s get Alfie back in front of goal, in the box for free kicks and corners, and actually knows how to get him scoring regularly in a front two. May is of course not a problem at all, but we do not play to his strengths as much as we should.

We can’t keep clean sheets, we look incredibly weak and soft. Duff was a defender and has a good record with Cheltenham and Barnsley.

If we don’t get rid of Appleton now and get in someone like Duff, a manager who has recently got promotion, and got a club to the play-off final last season, we are only heading one way and it’s not the way we all want.

I'm not entirely sure that's enough. Garner was good at this level. But we are a much bigger entity than Swindon and he never got to grips with it. Past players as managers have always done better than outsiders where we are concerned. There may well be a reason for that.

Now I'm not saying we should go back for Powell or Bowyer but you cannot deny that their knowledge of the club and it's fans had a factor in their success.

I just can't understand why you'd stick with him, because clearly he isn't the man who will take us up next season.

Not one player has improved under his coaching, with some getting worse every week. Zero tactical nous, hideous game management and the entire fanbase against him.

Why prolong the inevitable? If this window is about signing players for next season, why aren't we doing the same with the manager.

Garner had never managed at this level before getting the job? Duff got a newly promoted Cheltenham to mid-table and then Barnsley to a play off final

I wouldn’t be that against Bowyer, as I think this squad would suit him. Always did well when we had a strike partnership and 3-5-2/4-4-2 diamond would work

I would take Powell or Garner or indeed Pearson but we all know we will get another Garner or Appleton. Appleton has the job and if he wants to keep it, I would say to him that he is rightly accusing some of his players of lacking courage in their play. Well he needs to show courage and drop those players. And at this time T Thomas is not one of them! Jones and Ness are. And T Watson gives us nothing. Please Appleton see that, please.

You should never wish for your team to lose.
    But.
I reckon if we lose Tuesday he gets the sack and we replace him.
If we win Tuesday he limps on for a few more weeks.
    Tough one ain't it.

But he is no good, with no prospect of improving.

I can't even tell what the plan is supposed to be - what's our style of play, patterns etc?

Never a good sign flailing around changing formations and personnel hoping to get lucky
  • Deserves what he gets and he is being paid to produce results, then the chants will be aimed at the board, that sadly is how football works, MA is useless and should not be allowed to coach or manage these players as it is clearly not working!
Again wtf is going on at the training ground, put Pearce at the helm as a caretaker👍

Exactly this. I’ve thought this for weeks now. I couldn’t tell you what style of play he’s even trying to achieve.
  • There would be plenty of interest in managing CAFC - but whether they would be of the right quality is doubtful.
However, my view is that Appleton should go with immediate effect. We have some challenging games on the immediate horizon, and MA appears completely out of his depth. We cannot afford for this dreadful run of results to continue.

  • Next two games and no wins . Pleasure is  on
    I think you meant pressure!

Ok we have 5 new players…..we played Burton off the park but gave up stupid goals…..too much tick tacky shit….shoot from outside the area and stick first time crosses in the box…..we are too good to go down…..willing to give Appleton a little while longer

It’s the lack of attacking movement that drives me nuts. We knock it about in nice triangles without actually going forward, and 9/10 we then go long after keeping it for 5 minutes.

Said it before but our “wing backs” who offer nothing in attack or defence, kill us in this formation.

Edun has proven to be quite decent in attack, but neither are very good at defending. Kind of failed wingers and failed full backs.

100% about the wing backs. Edun has played more like what is required in the last two games but the jury is still out on him. We don't even need a jury for T Watson surely. He is too soft, offers very little offensively and even less defensively.

Also sometimes better to be lucky than good…..if Thomas’ shot went in and Bakinson and the keeper made a great save from I think Dobbo we would all be lauding the new signings and how things are gonna change….Appleton is not getting the rub of the green at the moment
