I’d love to know what a Comms professional would make on how our club is currently run. All football clubs leak info, that’s a given. But ours feels like it’s been a garden sieve since this lot come on board.
Seems like there’s absolutely no meaningful Comms Strategy at all; management of key messages is all over the place and mainly maintained though non-professional outlets, and with that there’s now no certainty in terms of credibility of what is being put out. Responsibility lines are all over the place.
its not an area of work I’m particularly familiar with, but it looks a right mess imo

I can't reveal where I get my rumours from mate, but it ain't from any Commies
How many clubs in the 92 have a manager offering out their own fans 😂
No problem with that. If it get really personal with swearing and dogs abuse then why doesn't the person have the bottle on their own and say it to his face ? Because there is safety in numbers and that's how cowards behave. I'm not talking booing but the personal abuse shite from a safe distant away or on social media. Humour to take the piss is fair for all of us whether in the public eye or not. You give it you should take it.
I do mean when your sober and I'm not making this up: a day after the Lockerbie disaster I was at firms Xmas do (Not my firm) and a drunk in the audience said to a Scottish comedian that they wished the plane had fallen on his house, as the comedian walked towards the guy to give him a kicking a quick thinking college gave the drunk a slap and quickly got him out of there. The 6ft Comedian (Never seen him on TV) composed himself got a round of applause and smashed it; the rest of his act not the drunk.
Novak Djokovic offered one heckler in the match against the Aussie the other day to come and say the words to his face and the guy at the end of the match said sorry and then went mute.
Keep it funny as many posts have over the last few day. It a shame with the minority who posted "Michael Appleton a Cunx and fuck off" Same with players who get dogs abuse with no comic value; It's just crass.
I hope he gets through this. I do respect the man. I agree with him, you don't have to jump about like a performing seal as a manager. If you make your points without confusion and fanfare they are often clearer. We have got into a poor run because the squad has not been resillient enough. We have strengthened and now have options accross the pitch but we are in a stall which one result will get us out of or at least could get us out of.
I would say in recent games the reason we have lost points is Jones not having the necessary defensive awareness about where the danger lies. That could be he misses a leader telling him what to do at the back. He should be constantly scanning the pitch IMO. T Watson also being totally unsuitable for the role he is being asked to play, lacking the physical attributes. Ness being a youngster who is not full of confidence is not helping either. Appleton does have options now to do something about that. It isn't throwing these players to the wolves or under a bus but taking them out in the moment.
If we win on Tuesday, it is what we should be doing at home to Northampton whether they are in good form or not. Then win at Blackpool and Appleton might have a chance. A small one, but a chance all the same.
For all the outrage and disappointment I have to say it's mostly self inflicted by the fans. None of the SMT or the comms team or "official" press people have said anything other than he's not fired... which he is not.
Whether or not he should be, it's been entirely on "ITKs" saying he's fired and with absolutely no official backing or even little hints or cryptic comments.
A lot of people look a bit daft right now and almost all of them bought it on themselves.
Just a rumour, but I’ve heard Appleton "coaches" children near Dartford and never actually goes to The Valley. And he’s the first to pipe up with his ignorant bile - kill Communists, hang out the St George's flag, and shoot anyone who talks to his disabled mother. He is an idiot.
So Appleton is saying he definitely took training this morning, others are suggesting (still) that he definitely didn’t.
I think the club is in a tricky spot with some of his comments, he’s really not helped himself, and now the fans have turned I don’t see what benefit there is in giving him one more game.

Was wondering the same thing. Can't remember who the poster was without trawling back through 30 pages but they said they had a very reliable training ground contact who confirmed Fleming took training and Appleton definitely didn't.
I think it's fair to assume that the contact has no reason to lie and would've just said 'yes' if Appleton was there, so why has Appleton now been put in the position where he has to lie to the press?

What were the comments L0rd ? People on here said he didn't take training, he said he did, I can't comment, I wasn't there. What else have I missed something ?
So he's not been sacked and from those quotes he won't ever leave of his own accord. Smells of compensation hunting.
Wouldn’t you hold out for the payoff?
No one would walk. It’d be an admission of failure (I know) and you’d be saying ‘no’ to a couple of hundred grand, or whatever. It’s not like he’s going to be walking into a job at this level anytime soon.
Seen a lot of posts blaming the club for the way it’s handled today … Fact is the club done nothing wrong today it’s been business as usual .. it’s social media that’s caused the problem …
They made you look more stupid than normal by saying that he'd gone.

He's getting dogs abuse online and saying 'they wouldn't say it to my face' is both fair enough and true!

Hope you last longer than the previous bloke.

Been there Michael, wore the t-shirt, and wrote the book, bring it on 😎😜

All become a bit of a mess really.
