He says the energy and performance levels will be better this week. So why were they so bad last week? And why is that acceptable
The psychology of football. The previously dropped pts weighed heavy on the players. Not making excuses for the putrid load of shit we witnessed on Boxing Day, but we've shafted ourselves.
  • Fraser unavailable thru “injury”
yet Apples still declines to select Louie Watson
Throws in Karoy Anderson who he didn’t even put on the bench 2 weeks ago
He’s not even pretending to know or care what he’s supposed to be doing
Apples you are the most shameless thief to yet sup on the Charlton gravy train
  • Just win the bloody game fella
  • He seems to think our injuries are funny? Lots of smirking. Michael knows best.
  • Blokes a cretin but knows Scott is afraid to kick him out.

We should get rid of both but doubt we will.

  • Appleton, the most miserable, uninspiring manager/coach that I have ever seen.
Please leave ASAP, We don't want you go home!
  • Dreary stuff to simply pass the time until he's gone.

More nonsense. I don't why he bothers. Still banging on about Oxford's second goal like it wasn't something we could do anything about whilst overlooking why the player was afforded so much time and space as Fraser didn't see fit to pressure the ball.
Thinks we were beaten by a good team which they are but they also had a load of injuries and their manager saw fit to change their system which he drilled into them in one training session.
Why can't Appleton do that? (Rhetorical question really!).
May is 50/50 to further underline the stupidity of playing him against Rovers when he had a back injury.
It's all drivel and the sooner this tactically inept, passionless and incompetent geezer goes the better.
It's going to get worse before it gets better unfortunately.

He’s got the personality of a breeze block - get rid.

I agree with a lot of your stuff, but not on this occasion.
Two of our most successful managers have not been a laugh a minute.
Hopefully Appleton will get players he wants and we can see what he's made of.
15 games into next season and it's still not working then hoof him out.
  • He looks a lot more upbeat than he has for a while which is a good sign

I take your point, but we shouldn't need until 15 games into next season to evaluate him. One of the key goals for the second half has to be determining if Appleton is the one to take the club forward.

I don't think a good enough job was done evaluating Holden and as such we started the season ateociously when it was learned Holden didn't have enough about him tactically. With the money we're spending and players we have for the level we're at a manager should not be given a calendar year to determine if he's good enough, especially one who has been around as long as Appleton.

If we see an uptick in performances with some new players in and others getting healthy, then great, build around that. If not, get rid. We're not getting promoted this season so we have a chance to evaluate all personnel in the second half. As I said, we didn't do that well enough last year because the signs were there with Holden.

Also, if Appleton isn't the guy then getting rid in the summer vastly expands the number of options available to replace him, which we didn't have when replacing Holden.

Yes. Might be involved but will take advice from medical staff.

    Yes still 50/50 but a better 50/50 than last week's 50/50!

I think he speaks much better in these press conferences than pre/post match interviews. I do wonder if that might change with a good run of form
