    Sensible decision

Any new manager/head coach needs to bring in staff he can trust to work with, otherwise you go down the same route as Dowie and Adkins

Would be good if Hayes could go back to the youth as he was very successful there I believe?

Unfortunately though he exuded the vibes of that bloke from Ted Lasso promoted from kit man when he was on the touchline with the first team. We seemed a bit amateur and clearly something hasn't been right with the coaching given how useless we are in basic footballing situations such as set plays and game awareness.

  • "with Michael’s input, decide what other members of staff we will recruit and in which areas to enable the players to improve and for the club to ensure we have a high performing team on and off the pitch.”

A defensive coach should already be on the 'must hire' list.

Still listed on official site as Asst Manager with the new guy listed too.
  • “Michael was very keen to work with Richie again and, after many conversations and meetings, it was clear that he would complement Michael as well as the rest of the first team staff well.

Right out of the katrien mare interview technique.

Welcome RO' D. I do think it is positive that he has brought in someone he has worked with before and trusts.Interesting that he hasn't brought David Kerslake in yet. I thought this came as a trio.

Has MA got a GK or might Hendo have a chance of staying?

    I'm thinking more like.....

Appleton "these are my back room staff"

Scott "No, you work with what we have"

Appleton " No, I work with my usual team"

Scott " No, you work with what we have"

Appleton  " That's not what we agreed at  the interview"

Scott " I'm not budging on this"

Appleton " Do you want me to resign before I even take charge of a game"

Scott  " sigh.......ok, but they have to be cheap"

Not like you to put the most negative slant possible on things ...
