The restrictions will prevent the club from carrying out any transfers or loans which involve a fee for this summer's window and the two in 2026.

That restriction is currently running alongside their registration embargo which was imposed a fortnight ago, preventing the club from signing any new players, even free transfers, until they have paid outstanding wages in full.

Obviously it's far from ideal but there's plenty of good players about on a free transfer or on loan these days that i don't think it's as serious an issue as it could be.

The thing that obviously isn't in their favour is if you were a player, would you sign for a club whose owner doesn't want to be there and is notoriously regularly late in paying wages?

I wonder how big the compensation fee Chansiri wants is for Danny Rohl and SCP that there's been plenty of good championship jobs out there and maybe even Prem opportunities and his name hasn't been seriously in the running for any of them because of it.

Yes, partly. But when speaking about Sheff Wed & their indiscretions they had Steven Fletcher playing for them (paying big bucks that we couldn't) who they brought on against us & he scored a last minute winner. A draw there would have kept us up. 

Now I dont "hate" any fans or clubs (apart from Millwall) but if you cheat the system & sign players that you cant afford then you get what's coming to you.

If they don’t pay the players by 30th June, the players can give the club 15 days notice to pay all outstanding wages owed or else they can walk away from their contracts.

Apparently this was close to happening last time they were in a mess, but the club managed to finagle their way out before anyone went through with it.

That may not necessarily be so ideal for a few players there, I gather they pay well up there(when the money is paid of course).

Who would put them into admin? The club debts are owed to the Chairman, so that'd be like a turkey voting for Xmas, writing off his own debts. Not going to happen. He wants as much back as he can get, not 10p in the £1, or whatever trivial sun admin would yield him.  The realistic option is for him to sell at a sensible price. Admin does him no favours. The HMRC or other creditors might petition for it though if they have bills unpaid and don't envisage them getting paid in full.

Of course they do because they’d come up smelling of roses. They’d knock all their small creditors and after a season or two be back to where they were before.

The writing is on the wall for Chansiri. He’s obviously got problems funding the club and is coming under pressure from all angles. No idea how Wednesday stand with HMRC but if that’s also iffy then I think he’ll be forced to the table. Hopefully not before they get clobbered with big points deductions. Horrible club.

He wants more than £100M, which would include the ground not owned by the club but by one of his other companies that he valued at £60M on separation. The main stand might be closed on health and safety grounds soon as needed repairs advised last year have not been carried out. They pay £2.5M a year in rent. Land worthless without Wednesday playing there as it's a community asset and on a flood plain, so no good for building on.

Yes, but placed into administration by order of the then majority owner. The Sheffield Wednesday owner might do the same, but I wouldn't say it's that likely tbh as there are potential buyers sniffing around. More likely he'll agree to sell to one of those.

The Derby deduction was 12 for placing themselves into admin, with a further 9 for accounting malpractice regarding valuation of the stadium, done to get around EFL rules.

I have no sympathy whatsoever for Sheffield Wednesday, I have always found them to be a nasty cheating club and the fans I've met are rotten to the core, outside of the obvious London clubs I hate -I hate Sheffield Wednesday with a passion. The Football League don't have the bollocks to punish them like they truly deserve and they get away with murder.

I bet he pays all contracted players that they want to keep by 30 June. As for the ones leaving, plus coaches and staff, that's another matter. But i doubt even he is stupid enough to not pay contracted players and let them walk away for free.

The administrator will be fair and try and get everyone paid rather than this owner who is likely to be more difficult. Potentially any new owners could take over all the debts. Derby bounced back very quickly, Wednesday could be the same.

It's usually enforced as a last resort to stop the club going out of business and is seldom an option favoured by the owner, who stands to get little back of his outlay. Confident fans will always site examples as you have in making it out to be a desirable outcome, but less high profile clubs have failed, Bury the most recent exception I can think of, Aldershot another in 1992.

As I recall,  it was an anxious time hoping we could find a buyer though, which although highly likely these days is never guaranteed.
