If as rumoured they go into administration tomorrow what happens then ?
Quote from a friend when I asked about it. Might as well share.
"The chairman is defo skint, but don't know who'd put us into admin unless we don't pay tax bills, because the football club debts are owed to the chairman. Not to say it won't happen, but there are people sniffing around to buy us. Think the chairman just has to realise what a mess he's made of it, and sell."
The embargo is meaningless at the moment, as we are heading into a 10 day suspension of the transfer market and Chansiri has 10 days more to sort things out with the efl.
“The EFL can confirm that Sheffield Wednesday Football Club is now subject to a three-window fee restriction after exceeding 30 days of late payments between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.
“In accordance with EFL Regulations, the restriction will cover the entirety of this summer’s window and two full windows thereafter (Winter 2026 and Summer 2026).

An hour long programme was broadcast on BBC Radio Sheffield yesterday evening, discussing the situation at Wednesday, among are guests are the local MP Clive Betts, the chair of the supporters trust & former owner Milan Mandaric. Wednesday away is a SH, last time I went a steward nearly strangled a young lad to death. Also the year of the Jackson free kick, being spat at as we left.
Utd were at The Valley when all the Black Taxi's came back from Belgium and I remember seeming some of them spitting at the cabs.
I hope they go down! Fan's are scum bags for both.
Reading surprised me last season because I thought their constraints would doom them but they were good. Maybe because they had been at a higher level the season before and there remained a better standard within the club.
Am i right in thinking this ban only covers transfer fee signings? I assume they can still sign players on loan or on free transfers?
The restrictions will prevent the club from carrying out any transfers or loans which involve a fee for this summer's window and the two in 2026.
That restriction is currently running alongside their registration embargo which was imposed a fortnight ago, preventing the club from signing any new players, even free transfers, until they have paid outstanding wages in full.
The only exception to that ruling would be if the club had fewer than 23 players in their senior playing squad, in which case they would be allowed to bring in a free transfer or free loan without breaking the embargo.

No mention of possibly going into Admin tomorrow .
Doubt it. Happened to us the year we went down which is why on this occasion I hope they get smashed with a deduction.
Not wishing anything bad on their club just karma.

But this is Sheffield Wednesday who cheated which ultimately got us relegated in 2019.
That was the hardest of all our relegations ever to accept imo.
I don’t recall any of their fans coming on here apologising for their club’s misdemeanours then.
Sod ’em I say. Let them take a hit to League One instead of us this time.

I always thought it was the fault of Lyle Taylor.
