Same here. Can't see what he's offering in that RW role.

I feel for him because he clearly isn't a winger. Has none of the required attributes to be successful in that position

Agreed.  Not his fault but TC should be on

    TC for Tedic at HT
Asiimwe for Watson at the 60th
Alfie May up top. Leaburn for Aneke later on too.

Aneke off the bench >>> Aneke from the start.

Something we’ve known for a while but managers struggle to accept. We need Leaburn’s energy from start to wear our the defence. Aneke vs tired defenders just multiplies his physical advantage whereas starting him against fresh defenders just levels the playing field and it only gets worse as the game goes on because he tires quicker than his opponents.

I wish we’d stop trying to use him the way we think should work, and focus on what know does work.

Absolutely piss awful that half, from both sides really tbh.

Let's hope we come out second half and start playing football.

Tedic is a donkey, May and Aneke barely involved and CBT has managed to make the wrong decision every time, passing when he should run, shooting when he should pass, dribbling when he should just lay it off or use the overlap...

Well that was a pretty poor first 45. Never really got started and every channel ball was way over hit. May struggled to get involved for the first half hour and they have far too much space and time in midfield. T Watson just goes backwards. Hector is doing well and AMB has needed to stay alert.

Hopefully the strong bench will be utilised and we can squeeze the odd goal or two.

    COYA!!

    oi oiiiiiiiiiiiiii GET INNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!

    Crossbar challenge won.

    HAVE THAT READING!
  • Very poor. Not sure the team selection has worked at all. Getting over run in the midfield.

Reading are double marking CBT & Watson and we are struggling to use the ball.

    Not good enough so far.

Gutted for the guy who just hit the crossbar challenge and won about 30p. Last guy won £11k. £1.5k this time. #cafc

The trouble with having a good squad is you always think you have the wrong players on the pitch 😂

TC on please 🙏 along with Frazer

We normally play like shite before the international break as well.

    It's called 'consistency'

Fraser needed to to replace any of the front three.

100%. Need to take the pressure of Watson to create chances.
  • Said it before the game but this formation just doesn't work - the 4 forwards too static so it's tedious passing round the back and then a hopeless through ball.
  • TC on for Tedic second half

Sad news at half time Sir Bobby Charlton RIP
  • Good to see crossbar challenge won and I think the guy had normal shoes on, not sure as my eyes aren’t in straight. The beer is decent after 50 years of coming down here and we haven’t conceded a goal.
But I do find tons the football hard work watching, surely the second half will have something to to talk about.

It was basically 4-4-2, May was alongside Aneke more than in previous games (or Leaburn). The performance was the issue more much than the formation. As I think Steve Brown said we need to up the tempo.

Important block from Jones at the near-post. Charlton deal with a first corner, behind for another
  • Should take a look at Reading when it comes to taking a decent corner. Excellent deliveries

Charlton lucky, corner whipped in from Reading and just needed the slightest of touches to turn it in. Goes out.

Huge chance for Knibbs from the next corner. Heads down into the ground and it bounces just wide. Should have scored.
