Spot on line up in my opinion. Players with something to prove and all are head and shoulders above what's at Cray Valley's disposal. That's not to disrespect the opposition but they are part time non-leaguers so shouldn't be an issue as long as we turn in a professional performance. 

Wouldn't have had Leaburn or May anywhere near this squad. Hopefully they will not be needed.

He gets injured and is out for 3 months

Appleton then has the fanbase saying why is he playing our best players for a game against a team like CVPM when we could have beat them with our squad players

Got to watch both the Brazilian GP, and Charlton at the same time today!! - If only we'd been selected at midday instead of Pompey, am sure they wouldn't have minded the late journey home @ 7pm

Going to be interested to see McGrandles, given his form under Appleton @ Lincoln - He did make me laugh the other day though, when the players got asked (as part of a Social Media thing) what Superpower they'd have.

Many decided on the ability to teleport - Conor said he'd have super strength as he has none of it on the pitch, or something to that extent...

If we'd played Tyreece Campbell in the 10 role and he'd torn them apart does that tell us that he's going to be able to smash Pompey when we play them despite them having far better players to put up against him? This is exactly when you use your squad players; you give them a chance to show they can perform when called upon, you keep their match fitness up and you can tell them that if they put in the work and the performance is there they'll be in contention in the league. That's worth far more than the 'confidence' we'd get from hammering the team who are currently 6th in the Isthmian League South East Division.

We wont learn anything at all from this game.

We're on a hiding to nothing... We either slaughter Cray Valley as expected... Great, we know Kirk etc. can perform against that standard.

If we barely beat them, then the reputation of Kirk etc. will sink even lower.

If we’ll learn nothing from playing our best players and winning, then surely we also learn nothing from playing the squad players. If Kirk gets a hat trick today, do we start him instead of May against Pompey?

Would have rather started with 10 than have Kirk in the team. Should be binned off to the U18's to train until we can get rid.
Looking forward to see Anderson, Edun, Chem and McGrandles, none of whom I remember seeing for us before.

Charlton Fans: We are cursed, our sports science team is rubbish, we have such a poor injury record.

Also Charlton Fans: Why we not playing our strongest XI against a team on the 7th/8th level of the football pyramid.

Also it’s not just that. There’s a squad of 22 players, and however you might disagree, it’s about trying to keep that squad not only fit (whether by giving minutes or resting) but also reasonably happy and motivated - because that helps drive up standards across the whole team. 

Imagine playing for a team where you basically know you’ve got very very limited chances of ever getting a game. And imagine how that might rub off across the whole squad and team spirit.
