Reads to me that something has come up that has put a bit of a question mark on the process. Potentially a medical issue given the "failed a medical" rumours going round.

My own guess would be that he's not "failed" a medical per se but there is some sort of medium to long term concern that might be problematic or require "game management" and that's skewed the figures in negotiations. We don't want another Chuks situation for instance.

Sheffield Wednesday getting Conor Coventry could apparently free up George Byers for a move. We should be all over that if it’s true
    Fun fact:

Made his senior debut in football against us for Watford when we lost 5-0 in January 2015, as we were waiting for a work permit for Guy Luzon to take us over. What a time that was as well!
    First day of the protests.

I didn’t think Wrexham was on the Isle of Anglesey 😉

Cautious on the pitch which causes us to drop points, cautious off the pitch which causes us to stand around with our dick in our hands most windows with a half baked squad, you can't say this not lot aren't consistent. VFR!!!

What more would you like them to do this window, offers made' they cannot make clubs and players sign until they are ready.

It’s really hard to decipher what’s actually happening in conversations and although people are getting hold of bits here and there, we just never know for sure.

IF both Gillesphrey and JCH fall through, I won’t be too disappointed IF we have adequate replacements in these and other positions that need strengthening.  The Jan window is probably the most difficult to have more than a plan B at a push, and if we can’t get them, whether that be down to what we put on the table and JCH getting a better offer in his case, and Gillesphrey not being up to it fitness wise, then so be it, but unless we have viable back ups of sufficient quality, then as frustrating as it is, given the way the season has panned out, then I would prefer loans just to keep us in the division, but the planning must start now for the summer.

What I don’t want is money spent on a backup that we didn’t necessarily want, but is signed just to please us and say “we’ve spent some money”

Yes, the owners/SLT will have to take a bit of flak given how the season has gone, but we’ve really messed up the last three Jan windows.

The offer for JCH shows decent intent.  As much as I’ve not been impressed with the new owners, laying £500k on the table for someone in the last 6 months of their contract who has a decent scoring record at this level, is an okay move imo.  However, they’re playing catch up on a poor summer and crap season, so I think we watching every move they make and analysing it to a high degree

It was meant tounge in cheek really as a comment but is starting to give similar vibes to the summer where all the PR talk is promising the world but failing to deliver the goods, early days for sure but almost comically predictable, let's hope JCH comes off and I have a big old egg on my face

Seems a strange fit considering we're crying out for physical presence up top but did well with Plymouth

He’s was signed by Blackburn on a 4 year deal last May so presumably it would be a loan deal 🤷‍♂️

    Local paper extract 15 December;

‘Ennis has been handed a series of setbacks. He arrived at the club with a groin injury, then picked up a knee complaint before suffering a hamstring issue in a recent Under-21s match. All of that has meant he's spent more time in the gym than at Ewood Park. After getting his first start on Tuesday, the aim for him is staying fit and available.’

Ennis is a good player but has barely featured for Blackburn this season because of injuries , seems like he signed with an injury from when he was at Plymouth and then just has has a succession of other injuries. Didn't make an appearance until just before Christmas.

However Nixon is making it sound like we'll only be interested if JCH doesn't work out. Barnsley and Bolton also interested

Miss out on a decent player on a permanent deal, only to end up with a crocked player on loan. Surely not

Only on CL would you read a positive rumour that we have agreed a fee for a proven striker, a top target and coup to possibly attract him at this level, only to be met with indifference by some.
Never happy some of you, I swear we could be in the mix for Haaland, Saka, Gomez and Grealish and fault would be found.

A proven striker who hasn't been a regular starter for his club this season ? I wonder why ? A coup to possibly attract him at this level ? The same level he's been playing at for years.
Met with indifference by some ? Why are Peterborough happy to let this proven striker leave

Be nice if we can get Stephen Humphreys in from Wigan as well - If he's linked.
How many strikers do we need?!
None, we already have Kanu, May, Leaburn & Aneke That should be enough

It’s their club policy. If players won’t extend their contracts they put them on the transfer list once they have 1 year remaining. The club even put the list of players on their website.

It's all very well making offers but the nitty gritty of negotiating with the players is when it can come unstuck.

I can think of an answer to this but it would be in very poor taste.

Indifference by some, so what, unless it’s AS or MA, it doesn’t matter, it’s all about opinions otherwise., both of us could probably name a dozen players that you rate and I don’t, and visa versa

who knows why he’s not played much, injury maybe, fell out with the club? although he did score a brace recently

At our current level and the state we are in it would be a coup, if he gets to be a free agent a championship club will sign him.

refusal to sign a new contract, and who says they are happy to let him leave?
