Keeper wise I think to truly compete at the top we need better but it's low on the list for January IMO unless someone absolutely mustard is available
Noise is now, they are planning for life without CBT and Dobbo, but they won't let them go on the cheap this month, they have figure they want, and they don't have to sell, and both players are happy to stay till the end of the season. Charlton are in a strong position with them both!
The issue is, they both know the figure Chuks is on, and want the same.. Which isn't going to happen. Both deals they have been offered would take them to among the highest paid players in league One.. That tells you how much Chuks is on, and why they can't move him on easily.1 -

No good signing a player like Coventry and then letting another one of our best walk out the door.13 -
SouthWest_Addicks said:@CAFCDAZ - would you say the top 1% earners in L1 is probably the same as the very best academy boys at premier league clubs. For example, Rak-Sakyi & the top L1 players are on a similar wage?1

We want the kind of window that we look back at this time next year and say "some really important building blocks for a genuine promotion push were put in place then".2 -
Funny balance to have signed 3 CMs in the Jan window.1

MA talks about hopefully signing 2-3 more this window right at the end of this.4

Heard from posh side that JCH wanted 15k a week hence the talks breaking down. Not sure where we're at with it at present.11

Hope we keep Dobbo and he signs a contract, like the sound of Coventry and by the sounds of it he definitely has the potential to play at a much higher level than George.
George is great for us, has massively improved over the past 2 years - he lacks a bit of pace to be top class IMO - but I just think he 'fits' Charlton. Not so sure he'll be the same somewhere else and as others has said, the grass isn't always greener.8 -

Dobson has been our stand out player and without him we'd be in more s*** than we already are.
You keep your best players.
The increase may still mean his salary is not good enough compared to others.
He has no interest, from any championship clubs, or top league one clubs.. Only enquiry he has had was from Wrexham.. So that tells you all you need to know!!
If it doesn't then he has the choice to take our offer now or wait until the summer and see how green the grass is then and hope our offer is still on the table......... tough choice for him just on the numbers and risk, never mind game time in the future which I assume means add-on £ for being on the grass.
Then there'd be all the personal upheaval of moving to wherever if he does choose to go.
He's been great for us, if he stays he's someone we can always rely on, if he goes I hope it all works out the way he wants and expects.0 -
15k for a bloke who doesn’t start for another league 1 club, yeah I’ll pass thanks17

I really want JCH, but if it is way outside our structure and causes unrest then it isn’t worth it. Find a younger, more promising prospect to sign7
-
JCH wanting 15k a week is obscene. Time to move onto the next name on the list whoever that is. Can't see Posh being overly impressed with that either.5
-
£15k way too much.
Time to move onto the next target.2 -

But the defence takes all the criticism.Any midfielder we sign who’s better than what we’ve got is very much welcomed.1

Dobson worrying about playing time 🤦🏻♂️I think Dobson and Coventry together would be a very good partnership, and give the defence a lot more protection
I am excited to see Coventry but I'd have been happier to see Dobson sign, 107 games played out of an avaliable 117 I just read on twitter earlier. Outrageous consistency.
Dobson staying would be the best transfer news imo, but of course we need to improve elsewhere as well.7 -

I'd rather spunk 15k a week up the wazoo on new deals for CBT and Dobson, than sign JCH11

Looks like it lots of tweets from Plymouth fans and Plymouth twitter accounts.0

Looks to have a very good left peg on him. At 1:40, yes that’s him taking a corner delivered right into the middle of the six yard box and yes that’s him sending in the follow up cross for a late winning goal that kept Plymouth in the top two with four games left.

I wish we were looking at Aaron Collins at Bristol Rovers. Him and May up front would be a nightmare combination. So mobile and annoying and he can also hold the ball up well.
Not having a stellar season for scoring but 9 assists is not to be sniffed at and he has a LOT of talent.
Possibly out of our price range but would be a menace9 -
