The new owners have put their hands in their pocket invested heavily and let’s not forget the permanent signings and loans have been from clubs in higher divisions showing great ambition .It’s still early days but after years of disappointment with different ownership’s these guys seem the real deal.1

Steven81 said:I watched that vid aswell this morning @scoham totally agree he looks quality knows how to create space for himself and get shots off with either foot and a great age too, definitely the sort of young player we should be bringing in to learn off alfie/ladapo and contribute aswell.
The gamble is whether he’s just had a good run of form, but if he moves to another L1 club and scoring goals at this level he could be out of our price range in a year or two.2 -
Fair play to some of the ITTV boys, they were on fire yesterday8

I have not responded on this thread before (only to get the titile changed to rumours and not rumour). I have been very busy with work and it has been hard to keep up with the transfer news. Been following the club since 1986 and I am disappointed as everyone how have fallen away as a club in the last 10 years or so. To be honest with you, a lot of these players I have never heard of before apart from Ladapo. At the beginning of the season we ll agreed that we were probably 5 or 6 players away from a Challenging team. As the season went on, we then realised we only have 4 players that ar at League 1 Standard and that is it. This is the first January I have known where we have signed 5 or 6 players, some on a permanent. Usually we ge them late an they are basically crap loan fillers that nobody else wants. There is one player I would really like us to sign and that would Aaron Collins. If we get him, then it will be a good transfer window.
Some people on here are blaming the club for not keeping CBT. At the end of the day CBT was on Aston Villa's books, and then got released. When he was at Tranmere, my Tranmere supporting relatives said that he was "useless" and told me so when he joined Charlton. (and to be fair when he first joined us, and his performances for us, he looked like an athlete that broke down after 70 minutes with hamstring but a useless footballer and a greedy one in terms of keeping the ball and wanting to shoot at every opportunity). He is a good player but frustrating to watch). For the record I would love to him have stayed. However, Derby are interested in him and he wants to go there. They could probably offer better money than us and are in a shout of promotion). At least he didn't down tools with 6 games to go unlike (you know who). Players come and go over the years. We are in a rebuilding exercise at the moment.7 -
Funny how we still keep focusing on Swindon!0

Scoham said:I forgot to mention him scoring with either foot, great to have that in a striker. If his hold up play is decent he could be the sort of player who could play alongside May/Kanu or Leaburn/Ladapo/Aneke.

Bit odd that Carlisle have showed their hand by saying they could afford the fee for Young but think it’s too high.1

Now Ladapo & May with Collins as 10.
Just thinking aloud.
Just watched some of Jake Young’s goals for Swindon - looks a very exciting player. Likes to run at defences, scores inside and outside the box, and is 6 ft 1 so passes the height test. Carlisle claim they can afford the price quoted but feel it’s too high. Might be ridiculous for them but affordable for us? A 21 year old with height, pace and goals is going to have a lot of potential, the sort of player who could step up to the Championship in time. https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/24062785.bradford-city-reject-third-bid-striker-jake-young/https://youtu.be/2ZTtEF3CJfo?si=mpyEbpxGJQsgn5jF

I'm not too sure on Aaron Collins.Looks like a bit of a one season wonder (last year at Rovers) and this season he hasn't done much. Before B.Rovers he didnt do much either.1

We're all disappointed by the way the likes of Kirk, Fraser etc have turned out for us and feels like a bit part of the issue is personality/workrate/attitude (and always makes me think back to that summer under Powell when we had a huge turnover of players, at the time CP was very clear that every addition needed to be the 'right' personality for the squad...1 -

He’s having a poor season according to the Bristol forum, yet he’s still got the joint most assists in the league. We certainly need to add a bit of creativity to the side.5
-
I have a mate who supports Bristol rovers and says he’s had a dip this year but is quality and will be mustard in the hole behind may and ladapo and can also play wide0
-
If 8 assists and three goals is a dip in form (only 3 less G/A than cbt) then I say snap him up now2
-
Some rumours earlier in the window linking us with Bromley's Ben Krauhaus, but he's now going to Brentford.1

Collins is a quality player, if we can sign him it will be a real statement of intent.8
