I'd be more than happy with just 1 really quality attacking midfielder today. The rest can wait until the summer. We need to focus on just being better than 4 teams at the moment.

An experienced centre back is a must do, get another forward great, but that back three/four needs sorting.

A wing-back would be my preference
  • Today is no different from any other day in the window, we have already moved a lot more than most clubs. A few more would be good but people shouldn’t be annoyed about losing Collins to Bolton. A very good player at this level, Bolton a more attractive option at this stage…

We have lost CBT. I appreciate there are reasons for it that are undertsandable but not sure this is a doing cartwheels window.
  • If we sign only one player today, I'd like it to be a really good wing back.
  • Didn’t Rodwell say something like it’s not worth getting out of bed till lunchtime on deadline day?
I told my wife that and she wasn't having it, I'm now up, showered, kids dropped off and an hour into my working day.

He obviously doesn't fit our plans. If we can get someone in who fits our plans better, then I'd prefer that.
  • If Collins goes to Bolton, why don't we sign Hilton's current attacking midfielder 😂

He’s too busy watching Location Location Location in the morning.

Disappointing about Collins. Can't remember the last time we had some creative quality like that.
    Scott Fraser 🤪

Agred. The signings are good don't get me wrong but we've decided to have a window signing players for a formation we hadn't played until a few weeks ago and look quite poor in.

We now look like we're lacking in creativity and have got rid of CBT who could create something out of nothing. Granted he doesn't suit the new system but that's crying out for a number 10 and we've got rid of Fraser too, who hasn't been great this season but should have had a chance in the new system. I'd have assumed we'd have got Fraser off the book due to high wages and to bring someone in but we will see..

It's also a system reliant on wingbacks and our wingbacks aren't good enough from what we've seen so far sadly.
  • I just cannot see big offers made as a positive if we don't actually get any of these players.

    Results over talk.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we get Clarke-Harris last minute, Maybe wishful thinking though .
  • More good defenders please

I don't think anyone has said that it is. But even with CBT gone honestly it's at the very least probably the "least bad" window there has been for a while, albeit that's like being the tallest dwarf in terms of being impressive.

Collins to Bolton is done apparently - so wonder who we are getting instead? It would be criminal to have no creative 10 signed, now that Fraser has gone - the whole 3-5-2 working hinges on this, in my opinion
Watson, Fiorini and May can all play there tbf!
Exactly, we just need a manager that actually plays one of them there. A goalscoring 10 can be one for the summer as Watson/Fiorini both won’t be here and that will free up some room.

Priority for now should be wing backs and a striker. Maybe even another centre back. I’d have all of that higher on the priority list than a 10
  • Id like to see - Sam Smith from Reading join today as then Alfie could play as a 10. - think another Centre Back would be good - Asimwe and Edun would be good wing backs with what we have. Need to stop the goals going in as we have enough firepower up front to always score in a game especially if Chuks is back soon from the bench as an impact player.
  • This is where having a manager already in place (especially someone like Jones) could make the difference in persuading players to choose us over rival teams...

  • We've already signed 2 CBs, surely we don't need another one this window? What we need is proper coaching on the training ground.

Stevenage have let in 18 fewer goals than us, that's down to coaching.

A brand new concept that could work.

At least we are consistent though

Charlton Athletic go into their Second transfer deadline day of the season and on both occasions have no head coach or manager in charge

Talk is cheap, they have a lot to do this window still.

Hopefully they wake up soon before more of our targets find themselves with a new club.

Is Kirk still a free agent ?
  • A quality wing back & a striker today I will be happy.
  • Big day ahead as we have ended up with a really unbalanced squad. Losing CBT has taken away most of our attacking outlet. Both wings back aren’t good enough to step up to replace CBT numbers in terms of assist etc, and we don’t have an attacking midfielder who can link play between midfield and attacker.

Also need a manager. A very busy day at Charlton.

Glad someone else said this, now I know I’m not the only one.

Average number of signings in L1 is about 2.7, with 7 new faces (6 outfield) I don't think we can complain too much.

We can, because we are down the bottom, have "loaned" out our most influential player in terms of outlet and pace, have signed players who still haven't done any better than nicking us a 1-1 draw away to the mighty Blackpool and see us sitting precariously above the drop zone

So.  Sadly.   We can complain and should !

Oh and 7 in and 7 out.   So basically we've signed ZERO players... or just replaced a load of shit we bought and loaned in - a significant amount by Andy Scott who presides over our search for other players to get him and us out of the mess they were partly responsible for creating and sacking two managers he was responsible for bringing in/part of the team bringing in

I can't give them a ringing endorsement right now!

May be a bit behind but has there been any sign from the club that we will be looking to make more signings?

One for when we inevitably miss our targets today. Tarique Fosu is still a free agent, would give us a wide option for some flexibility. And he also played as a 10 for Bowyer, and as an attacking wing back at times for Brentford so could still fit into a 3-5-2 if that’s what we go with
