I wonder if they felt a bit embarrassed by the Port Vale lad thing so are keeping quiet. I’m choosing to believe that as I don’t want to think about finishing the season with this squadCroydon said:
do we reckon the radio silence (journos, itk, general rumours) is because no one is coming in?charlton_hero said:1 -
Dont think so. If we weren’t signing anyone the ITKs would be briefing heavily making excuses and saying that the squad is good enough and just needs a managerCroydon said:

I think we will be active later but not expecting much quality with no manager and our league position3 -
How has Bonne managed to go up a division... He's scored 4 in 25 in L2.6

Don't worry mate, Scott has a good eye for a player.shirty5 said:
A brand new concept that could work.Rufus is a dogs name said:This is where having a manager already in place (especially someone like Jones) could make the difference in persuading players to choose us over rival teams...At least we are consistent thoughCharlton Athletic go into their Second transfer deadline day of the season and on both occasions have no head coach or manager in charge0 -

O’Connell was decent and only left because we got a ridiculously high offer for him. Payne, Gilbey, Stockley, Fraser, and Kirk were all good signings at the time.cabbles said:If McGrandles goes, what a great example of how piss poor our recruitment has been over the last few years. Take your pick, Payne, O’Connell, Stockley, Mansfield, Fraser, Gilbey, Kirk, the list goes on and on….it’s speaks volumes as to why we are where we are today

Club saving their money until they know what League we will be in next season.1

Braziliance said:We play Cambridge away, with Bonne and Taylor up top, with Neil Harris as manager, in a relegation season.
What could possibly go wrongYou can see it coming, Taylor gets "Taylor, Taylor you're a c***" throughout the game and in the last minute gets the winner and celebrates in front of us.0 -
Bonne must have some agent, can’t believe the guy is even playing in the Football League let alone moving up a division.4

Pretty quiet deadline day all round. Not what it used to be.2

We like them though, maybe it'll balance out?CafcSCP said:Cambridge also have Morrison and cousins 😂1 -
You're right to an extent but the simple fact is I was pleased when we signed four, if not five, of them. And I suspect most were.cabbles said:If McGrandles goes, what a great example of how piss poor our recruitment has been over the last few years. A far better question is why do players who are good at their previous clubs become so hopeless for us and so quickly.2 -
If you ever need an example of just how much our club is underperforming it is clubs ABOVE US in the league signing Macaulay f***ing Bonne

Hasn't been great at Gillingham has he?
So basically did badly in L1, got released, did badly in L2... L1 club sign him.0 -

Siesta time. Expecting some top signings by the time I wake up. 😬3

My Millwall mate told me not to worry about the transfer window. Apparently they have signed a player who they can’t use yet because he is too fat. He said you cannot make it up.8

I used to play a lot of golf with the son of a well known 50s/60s footballer. He told me that Brighton signed his Dad from Spurs only to find, on his first day of training, that he weighed inat 17.5 stone.pettgra said:My Millwall mate told me not to worry about the transfer window. A bit like us when we signed Josh Parker and then Hemed the following year.0 -

Doing their best to keep us up with the crap strikers they have signed this window.0 -
That’s the point though, good signings at the time that have gone on to flop or under deliver. It’s been shocking, with very few decent examples to look to, and it’s been consistently bad for a number of years. We have such a low bar that we now think someone like Payne was a good signing at the time. A good transfer policy is building for the long term. Where’s our Mark Kinsella’s, John Robinson’s etc.ElliotCAFC said:

everything has been built on sand and I can only think of Dobson as seeing out 3 plus seasons.2 -
Brighton have just signed Vickers from Reading
Only a youngster but still with 14 League One appearances this season.
That squad is being decimated5 -
Someone mentioned Caylen Vickers , he's off to Brighton.0
