Let's be realistic, Dobson is leaving, whether it be in January or the Summer. But a midfield two of Terry Taylor and Conor Coventry is a very attractive proposition.

I hope if he does sign he'll play alongside Dobson rather than instead of. We've been so weak in the middle we could do with a couple of decent DM's in there.
Got to be what MA is aiming for and why he won’t play Watson - he commented on a weakness in the defensive side of his game in November, and he doesn’t have the goals in him to be a 10.

Far too early to make any sort of judgement on Taylor imo.
As above if we get Coventry I'd imagine it'll be as a Dobson replacement. Which to be honest I'd be pleased with. Wouldn't be surprised if we tried to offload Fraser too.

100%. I spent a couple of minutes trying to remember who he is!
Coventry is better than Dobson, but hopefully they are going to be paired together. Those 2 and a fit Terry Taylor is a good start to our midfield options for next season if we can get the first 2 tied up

Coventry isn’t one I have heard, but if true I would imagine would be a permanent signing, he certainly fits the type of players we are looking.
I would add, that Dobson has been offer a take or leave or deal, if he doesn’t sign, he will be gone, same as CBT. But I think that is old news.
As I mentioned there is going to be a lot of transactions this month, in and out of the club. I honestly think these owners want to a big go at, I get to fans are once bitten twice as shy, and want instant success, but personally I feel we need to give them a bit of time, they haven’t done anything alarmingly wrong at the moment. They have a strategy and a plan, and it is certainly bette than the last few owners that’s for sure!
As I go back, there is a base on here would only be happy if it was Varney that took over!
It is a big month for Scott, if no improvement then we deserve to go after him, but at the moment the jury is out for me!

Why did we not do this in the summer?! They’ve basically wasted a season (and a very weak league 1) and missed a great opportunity.
If the money is there now, why wasn’t it in the summer? Just seems like a bit of an odd approach

Just win games. It's pretty simple. Currently failing.

Because basically the whole window was planned around Holden… he basically got the younger small squad he wanted!

You obviously get some useful info but so often it's given alongside you criticising Charlton fans for not liking this ownership and digging them out for wanting something different. I get that you're close to them in some way but it hasn't exactly been good so far has it? I'd love if we could have the rumours without the biased commentary alongside it.

We have signed the worst collection of loanees and free transfers in living memory We have signed a non descript manager who appears to be regressing our highly lauded youngsters We have not kept a clean sheet in 12 games We have drawn with Cray Valley Paper Mills and lost to Gillingham in the FA Cup (with a near first choice team) We have lost three games in a row and only won twice in twelve games We sit in the bottom half of Division 3 The crowds are rapidly disappearing We have left Dobson and CBT with contracts that they do not wish to extend - it's all well and good doing a "take it or leave it offer" but we're not really attractive a proposition right now
I use "We" - but I mean THEY.
Their strategy and plan CLEARLY isn't working - why we NEARLY got a point yesterday, at home, to Oxford - a side with 8-10 first choice players missing/injured!
If you don't think the above is alarmingly wrong, then it's because you want to believe everything you are told.
Come to London and endure, sorry I mean, enjoy the lovely atmosphere at the Valley and watch our greatest side of all time with your own eyes.........
I HOPE TO GOD they improve what they are doing, but to say they have done nothing alarmingly wrong at the moment is absolute nonsense.

Gillesphey and Coventry sound like players who can go a long way in sorting out our fragile backbone.
We ended up with
Matt Penny
Kilkenny
Bonne.
I shall contain my excitement until any deal is done.
I thought most of our current problems are because we are playing too many youngsters. Haven't I been reading that we need more senior pro's ?
Don't we ever learn.
Far more important than age is overall ability and maturity. Which it sounds like, based on the Matt Taylor interview above, he has spades of.
Not making a comparison to Cullen because that’s a high bar to reach but no one would’ve thought he was as young as he was when he came here.
Cheers for that
