looks like this is showing how best to utilise the loan market0

"Got the footwork of prime Messi and holds it up like Harry Kane"
He's definitely improved a bit since the Mbick i last saw then............6 -
Looks like the MBick and Kanu loans are going well. Asiimwe too if you factor in all positions.1
-
Ahadme as well if you include EFL trophy games.MuttleyCAFC said:Looks like the MBick and Kanu loans are going well. Asiimwe too if you factor in all positions.2 -
A Mitchell playing consistently too, so are Terry Taylor and Toby Bower but they are less relevantMuttleyCAFC said:Looks like the MBick and Kanu loans are going well. Asiimwe too if you factor in all positions.1 -
Whereas Zach Mitchell appears to be wasting his time being at Hibs and hasn't even been in the matchday squad.fenaddick said:

It's a delicate line between finding the right level for a player and that individual getting game time too - some have argued that Mbick and Kanu shouldn't be in League 2 but they are starting week in, week out whereas Zach hasn't played a single minute in the Scottish Premiership and he's stuffed now because he can't go on loan elsewhere. He had a very successful time at St Johnstone but this is Colchester re-visited for the lad.0 -
Colchester are quite humble status wise, but they have a realistic view of the kind of club they are.I have watched Academy games between us and Colchester United regularly, and for the past dozen or so years I have generally been impressed with them, they strive (and often succeed) to play decent, honest, credible and pretty skilled football at academy level. The development culture at Colchester always strikes me as a good set up without any ‘Bertie big bollocks’ attitudes anywhere that unbalances that culture.
I have also regularly seen Danny Cowley at our U21 games, and given his coaching background I would say he is a good fit for Colchester, and he will be a good influence and manager for Micha at this stage in his career.Looking at that wonderful showreel all from one single game there must be a huge temptation to recall Micha in January, but in the medium term it seems to me that he should remain at Colchester for the season and continue to be what he looks like he is, a big fish in a small pool.
It matters that Micha continues to be a stand out player in that fourth division.7 -
MicAH, his name is MicAH not MicHA0

I think Zach got injured. Played for their U21s in a cup game recently to get some fitnessAddick Addict said:

I wonder if we’re going to recall Michu or not4
-
Zak is coming back from injury.
The Mbick we are seeing now for Colchester is the one we saw in the U21s.0 -
Can we really leave off the "let's recall them" stuff. Let's remember the Conor Gallagher episode.
And BTW does Mbick do the NJ "press" any better than Leaburn?0 -
Mbick should only be coming back if we have an injury crisis or some team surprisingly comes in for our forwards. Mbick could potentially offer more than our current forwards, but we’ve invested a lot of money in Tanto and Kelman, NJ has spent an entire year converting TC to a forward and we just handed a Leaburn a 3 year deal and is the first proper time he hasn’t been hit with injuries would be strange to give up on any of them just yet3
-
Not only that, but I'd hazard a guess that if you stuck Kelman, Tanto or Leaburn in at a League 2 club right now they'd look absolutely world class. He's doing well but he's also doing exactly what we need him to do, which is play a lot of football and develop. Won't do him good coming back in Jan to sit on the bench at best14

Along with one of the GK's he playing at the lowest level of anyone in the squad who plays senior football, impressive

We've had surprisingly few England youth caps in recent years, with many of our younger players going straight into full international football with other countries.5

I've been really impressed with Mbick's performances, most of all because, like all good players, he has that image in his head of the options open to him before he receives the ball. If there is one thing, perhaps, I would like to see him doing is actually being a bit more selfish - there have been times when one can't help thinking that he could have pulled the trigger himself when in a good position to do so. I'm sure that will come too but fantastic to see his development.0
-
This is actually very, very impressive imo2

Curious to know what the price tag would be for him if a bigger club came calling considering he’s just turning 19 and proving he can manage L2 with ease0
-
Colchester fans are proud but gutted which is a real compliment. It means he misses their game against Walsall so no CAFC loan derby3

That was for his second spell.LargeAddick said:
Mortimer came in from Palace.jimmymelrose said:If we’re not signing another forward this summer then this means that NJ sees his progress in training as good enough to make league appearances. Players his age can make huge strides in short periods. Maybe we’ve been stuck in League One so long to forget that we once had young players stepping up to making regular appearances in even the top division.
I long for the days when for example Scott Minto came in from nowhere, looked so classy that Chelsea signed him, and so we just simply seemlessly brought in Anthony Barness.
Then there’s Lee, Stuart, Mortimer, Bennett, Konchesky and more recently Doughty (and loads of others) who broke into the 1st team at a young age and fitted in immediately. Why not Mbick or anyone else?
He had been at Fulham and was working in a bookshop when he came to us first.
Anyway this thread is not about Paul Mortimer.
Congratulations to Micah on selection for England Under 20s.1 -
Shame in a way, as was looking forward to watching Kanu vs Mbick, with no Charlton game that weekendfenaddick said:Colchester fans are proud but gutted which is a real compliment. It means he misses their game against Walsall so no CAFC loan derby2 -
I think genuinely it would be more than we got for Burstow. There's something very special about Micah.Crispywood said:Curious to know what the price tag would be for him if a bigger club came calling considering he’s just turning 19 and proving he can manage L2 with ease2 -
At this point if a Premier League team wants him as a lottery ticket we should be asking for minimum £5m and a chunky sell on.
Just no need to even consider selling him at this point.0 -
£5m + Chuks back3
