  • He’s also had a haircut which makes his head look massive, good for getting on the end of crosses
  • Good news, as NJ says with his size and power the potential is there.

Going to be interesting to see if we loan him out, and if so to what level. We might prefer to keep him at the club to focus on developing him exactly the way we want to.

I don’t disagree that generally he hasn’t looked ready yet, but he’s still only 18 and he’s not going to be on a huge contract, so it’s low risk.

I think nerves and confidence played a part at times, and it wasn’t his fault we lacked good options off the bench. Definitely more to come from him, hopefully he can make enough progress in the next few years to make it with us.
  • 3 years and a +1 option suggests that there's pretty high hopes, he certainly has the physical attributes to succeed.

  • That’s Mbick, Fullah, Enslin, Laqeretabua and Mitchell signed up on long term deals in the last year, plus Dixon who joined on a long contract too.

Great to get them all signed up before they’ve properly broken through, rather than trying to do so after they’ve become established in our first team.

I would guess they’ll look to get Mwamba signed up too, as he was part of the u21 group at Wembley, and possibly Asiimwe if they’re happy with his progress at Walsall.

Wonder why they’ve announced the contract length but didn’t with Enslin and Fullah? Expect it’ll be very similar.

    That’s excellent news!
  • I see a raw player, the club see the potential, good news he's been signed up long term.
  • Still feels like the best thing for him next season is a loan. Great to get him signed long term though.
  • He's definitely one who the manager really rates, whereas before NJ arrived he wouldn't have been the academy striker I'd expect to break through.

I still think he was promoted a bit early, so he really shouldn't be featuring regularly in the Championship squads. Whether that means a loan or just a season in the U21s with the occasional cup game remains to be seen.
