My instinct was to criticise Dobson for not playing the whistle, but that is miles out literally a foot over the line. Absolutely shocking from the ref.
Play to the whistle will be the first thing Appleton says at half-time, and rightly so.
The guy was away from Dobson, he would never have got back before the guy crossed the ball...why are we blaming US for that crap decision, it was out of play ffs...😫

Agree. It's the worst place on the pitch for an official to judge that over the line, with no linesman in that segment and ref disadvantaged by the angles (even if he is a lemon).
Right now in an alternative universe, they are going spare on Charlton Life after Dobson kicked the ball upfield to a Barnsley player when the ball was clearly out and they scored from it. If he had just left it the ref would have given the goal kick…
