Taking my kids for the first time. I live a decent distance away now but that first visit (v. Huddersfield on Chis Powell's return) has led to my kids becoming fans and subsequently my games per season becoming less sporadic.
Bizarrely there was also something "magical" about being alone and standing on the centre circle of an abandoned and overgrown Valley, thinking of past glories and anticipating our return.
I remember the promotion party when we won League One. I was only a young teenager and remember my Dad telling me to drink it in because I likely will have my own kids the next time I see something like this, only now do I see how true that statement is.
My first visit to the Valley on a freezing December afternoon in ‘69 with the floodlights on and a home win! Wish I could remember who we played and who scored!

That seems a very long time ago now.

Getting a football on the back of the head from a player warming up, when doing the centre circle tarpaulin before a match.
