I’m going to keep this short. It was a bore fest. Charlton controlled the match throughout, with Burton applying pressure sparingly. But Charlton weren’t able to actually create much, despite Burton’s hapless form. Charlton went ahead on twenty minutes through brilliant interplay between our two centre-halves, with Michael Hector putting a peach of a cross into the box for a leaping Lloyd Jones to head home. That was most of everything good.

Nothing else much happened until the 92 minute, where Charlton gifted a chance for Burton to poke home the equaliser. 93 minute, the match was over.

Like Jesus turning water into wine, Charlton again turn three points into one.

The atmosphere was flat throughout. There needs to be some accountability for the lack of urgency… it continues to be a problem.

Charlton 1 Burton 1

Over to you.

Cowardly players and a manager who’s about as inspiring and tactically aware as a fucking paving slab. Money coming in January though so don’t worry lads

Not Fraser’s best game but as soon as he came off they seem to lose their composure and not for the first time…

11 points from both the Play-Off and relegation places. Hard to believe that our season is dead with it not half way through yet but that's how it looks.

  • More often than not we dominate possession, play the ball around and make the opposition do the running around throughout the game. Yet it's us who look knackered at the end of games, often leading to a mistake that leads to an opposition goal. We aren't fit enough.

Unfathomable but so typical of what we have become and come to expect. Where was the hunger and determination to land the 3 points that were there on a plate to be taken today? At another ground somewhere it would appear… Happy Christmas all. Don’t let these bottlers ruin it for you.
  • Appleton will surely be hurting more than us tonight…tosser…!!

terrible manager, really hasn’t got a clue, mismanaging us to oblivion,my faith in him getting us anywhere near play offs has now been extinguished…bah fuckin humbug…😡
  • Once again, how is MA going to defend this, the normal dribble, not good enough, poor appointment by the owners, MA is way out of touch, we get what we pay for nowadays, season over!

    CBT an enigma.
He's not. He's exactly what I called him the other day: the worst player on the pitch, until he goes and gets you a goal. Today he didn't. Is he a luxury player? Haven't decided. But he was properly abominable
  • We could all see from the stands that equaliser was coming, we are just too soft all over the pitch.

Had 1-1 written all over it from the off, and especially after Corey dallied.  Ash does command the box and that means the defence is too often on the back foot for set pieces

    Same Shit different day,
when will these wankers realise that they cannot rely on a 1-0 lead.
tactically inept Crap with zero passion !!!!!!
  • Truly pathetic. To play with no urgency or enthusiasm for the last 30 minutes just invited pressure and that equaliser was always on the card. And then to rub our noses in it, they started to play again in extra time after letting that goal in.

Appletons 4231 isn't helping. Whoever draws the short straw to play up front has got no chance against 3 big defenders.

Appleton won't see the season out if it carries on like this.

    Honestly fuck this football club.

just gifted a point to one of, if not the worst side I think I’ve seen us play at the valley. Clueless manager with a selection of players not Interested and not very good

    absolutely fuming

Predictable despite us all thinking we should win this one. It's just so predictable now and at present we are mid table at best. Continue to disappoint.

Managed to gift the opposition the points far too much this season. Burton genuinely at times looked like Cray Valley in quality.

Just a bad team all round. No game management and no leadership. Poor performances throughout too.

Porridge (the film) starts in 10 mins. It's the one where a "celebrity 11" visit Slade prison for a football match.

We'd probably lose against either of them at this rate.
  • Why play an out and out goal score (may) on the wing and play a tricky winger (Campbell) through the middle

i never wanted Appleton and he got the job because he is mates with salmon pants! This is bull shit and  embarrassing. I can't see how a transfer window will improve manager naivety

Game to send a glass eye to sleep. Too many players for whatever reason failing to do the base level footballing fundamental of having a desire to attack the ball. If you are a real sadist go back through the last dozen games and see how often our players en masse make a half arsed pathetic jump to make it look like they are competing for a header, hang out a leg or make a flick rather than commiting to a tackle.

Highlighted perfectly by their equaliser today

Its the same across the pitch, we have 3 players in Jones, Dobson and May who commit to what they are doing the rest whilst thinking and probably being technically decent have a complete lack of desire to be first to the ball.

Could have Ancelotti, Guardiola, Klopp in charge of this bunch of day dreamers and it wouldn't make a difference. Until these 3rd tier professional footballers understand and fulfil something I would expect from every amateur player on the planet we will float, stinking our way through another season finishing 12th

It’s very clear where the problem lies .. its the wide areas .. what did we create today CBT just go had enough now .. this system relies on your wide attackers .. said last season if we going to play 433 or 4231 we need to invest in very good wide players who are consistent and we still not done that .. T Campbell not good enough CBT league two standard , May needs to play number 10 … yes we miss we badly miss a pyshical presence up top and that’s just unlucky that both options are injured .. but it won’t matter if we had Haaland up front because we don’t get the ball into the box enough times with enough quality… ….. and when don’t do that you don’t kill games and also putting your defence under pressure
