Not got a good feeling about this one…
It’s a surprisingly nice stadium though!
    Wembley of the North.
That’s what it was called in the post war years. Intention was to build a stadium to rival Wembley and it’s size.
    I know, that's why I said it!
  • Important block from Jones to prevent a Massey shot

Vale have just had a couple of free-kicks in wide areas near the penalty box that Charlton have dealt with. Second one came back to the edge of the area where Wilson had a pop but comfortable for AMB
  • This 4231 line up is crap.

Poor old Kanu is up front by himself and hasn't got a hope in hell up against 3 or 4 big defenders.

Seeing L Watson start for the first time in weeks reminds me of my first impression of him playing as a 10 he gives it and gets it back, is good on the ball, and finds space well. As said above, he has his shortcomings, but he looks very effective in the 10 role, where he's spent almost no time this season.

Oh great work from Jones to cut out a Wilson pass, who'd breezed past Hector with far too much ease

He did that deliberately so he can have first dibs on pork pies in the dressing room.

Hector being criticised by commentators, there. They must have an agenda!

Ikpeazu up top looks a bit of a presence for the hosts. Heads well wide from a cross under pressure from Jones (think it was Jones, can't see a thing with this sun here)

Must have been kanu's fault, or the wingers, possibly the midfield, maybe Twatson, but definitely not Hector.

Edun has to shoot there. Way too many touches. Very poor.

Edun trying to walk the ball in. Wasted chance. Again.

I really don’t enjoy watching us play football anymore. Such a chore tuning in these days
  • Chance lost by Edun, losing control in the box after a nice run, we are doing fine early on...

  • Oh balls... Lovely move releases Edun who races into the box

Tayo gets a nosebleed though, and loses the ball before he can make a decision

Toothless up front, fee sorry for Kanu - he’s got no chance on his own

Just checked in - pleasing to see it’s 0-0. If we keep this up we could still sneak a 2-0 defeat.

Jones is pretty good on the ball at times. Think we can definitely build around him at the back.

Yeah, he has his moments, but his touch isn't good enough and he's not good enough with the ball at his feet to play there at this point. He's made strides in his movement and strength but he needs to get better technically. He was fifth choice CF a couple of months ago (Aneke, Leaburn, May, Tedic) and he's started the last 4-5 games now.

We are a much better side with L Watson in it, always wants the ball and has a superb first touch and keeps it moving fast
