Can you be player of the season when you havent played for half of it?
Not for me and why I said Coventry, Jones and Tupac but can see why Ramsay would get a lot of votes. Jones missed about nine games too, should we discount him too?

I give you Diego Poyet who played 20 games starting in January 13/14 season and won POTY. Poyet had a really strange football career as he only played 71 matches and I can't see that he played any pro football after he was 23 years old. Was doing bodybuilding until his Dad advised him to get into football coaching as a 2nd career.

This guy has gone from being my least favourite player to be in my top three favourites. Absolutely love him!
Absolutely, leading up to mid-December i don't think there's too many on here who would've been sorry to see him leave in the January window. Now i'd be sorry if he missed a game.
His turnaround in form (along with the teams) is quite remarkable.
He's got the most goals for us of any defender outright and only behind Edwards on assists in addition to his defensive improvement. If he keeps on at that rate he genuinely SHOULD be at least in the POTY conversation even if he doesn't win.

Ruined by Allardyce...
Assisted by the Charlton fans who thought it was a good idea to find a social media post by Poyet when he was 16 and detrimental to Andy Carroll. I appreciate that people get off on it and it enriches their sad lives but for Diego it was a slippery slope and he was a shadow of his former self when he came back for his 6 game loan spell.
Just looked back at Gillesphey's earlier posts and with the exception of one or two he was dismissed as useless. Even the praise was full of irony.
When I said early in the season that Macca could become a CULT player, I was told has my Dyslexia returned 🙄
What saddened me and suprised me about Diego was he made a poor decision and he had potentially the best advisor he could have had in his dad. I would say to any young player doing well at a club, make sure your first move is to a club willing to pay decent money for you. They are then investing in you rather than taking a punt with nothing to lose.
He would have started for us the next season and developed instead of playing reserve team football and being pushed from pillar to post. The last thing he needed at that time.

He has played every game. Has only missed the Birmingham game , which again for the result it was probably puts him out of Player of the Season contention.

Thanks for that, i was referring to Ramsay as i think was clear to everyone else.

i'd 100% agree with this. Last season when he first showed up, in-fact in his first game, the amount of misplaced passes, poor tackles and positioning were a real problem. In the last 2 months his been like a Defender reborn! if this is the player that Plymouth said we'd get, i'm delighted that Jones stuck with him as he has been fantastic of late.
3 crucial goals recently, plays every minute, he's doing great
2 are down to Gilbert corners lbh. Must admit though never had him scoring a freekick on my bingo card.
Someone was going to score from that free kick given the ‘wall’ that Barnsley put up. Must admit when it was left to Gillesphey I was surprised because I thought the other side looked even more open from where I was sitting but I guess they decided between them from 10 yards away the holes in the wall looked bigger that side.

But hopefully, he knew that already.

No doubt playing in a settled team where little to no changes are made weekly has helped.
No where near to POTY for me though, that's likely to be Jones or Coventry but there's arguments for Ramsay, Edwards & TC.
