  • Tight one there, Alfie didn't look like a clear offside, where's the advantage to the attacker gone
  • We have 77% possession, but that means nothing unless you score
  • Ness over committed BUT there are enough other defenders to cover. One attacks the ball, others move over to cover, that goal isn't just down to Ness.

  • Quite clear that the plan for Burton here is to sit in and try and make it tough whilst getting a goal like they have - working out for them so far. Charlton dominating the ball but not creating a massive amount yet - have had our moments though
  • As we’ve seen before, especially in the first half of matches, we’re keeping possession very well but it’s at the expense of any penetration. All far far too slow. Instead of 3 or 4 touches and pass sideways or backwards it needs to be 1 or 2 touches and pass forward a lot more. When we’ve done it, we have got in behind them.

Stop showing favouritism to the Academy

Still a CB short. Don't trust any of these 3
Thomas has been good today, builds well from the back. We've got two new CBs on the bench

All those yesterday/today predicting an easy 3 or 4 nil win and truly believing that a couple of decent signings will immediately turn us into Real Madrid, also seem to forgotten how inept our manager is.
  • Goal comes back to Jones again for me. He always backs off, inviting opposition to come at us. Yes Watson and Ness made mistakes, but you need the last man to at least pressure the forward.

  • This pitch is shocking, hard to play anything nice on that.
  • I think Jones needs some time out of the team, clearly a good player in there but looks off it last few weeks
  • 1-0 down, against a deep defensive line, on this pitch. Not ideal.

I didn't want to believe it, but we are genuinely in a relegation battle aren't we?

Good job half the teams below us aren't playing today.

After a good season until recently, I have to wonder if Jones keeps his place as we start to integrate the new signings. Slow to read the flick on, slow to close down Helm.
If Hector was fit there'd certainly be conversations to have
No there wouldn't Hector would be starting
  • That was going in
  • Great effort from Thomas, brings out a good save and a corner
  • Unlucky Terrell
  • Even if our new defenders do not play together before today, can they do any worse?
  • Their keeper makes two unbelievable saves back to back.

  • 23 mins of complete dominance.

    Weak defence.

    1.0
That is a very fair assessment of the game so far.
  • Great effort Thomas!!
  • Two good saves from the Burton keeper to keep it level.
  • What a shot and what a save.

    Twice!

We are much the better team here, which makes that typical defensive mind fart even more annoying.

  • Terell Thomas denied by a fingertip from Crocombe - that would legit have been a worldy from range.

Awful defending from Watson, who didn’t track back, Ness who over committed and Jones who didn’t show the player on the outside.

    Pub league defending.
    Not the first time…
  • Close! Bakinson unlucky from a corner, good save.
  • Shame Ness had his back to the ball

    All his fault

  • Bakinson close from the corner - his volley well saved
  • 2 great saves from their keeper there
