DOBSON: 6.5 Passing was off for much of the night, but worked his socks off as usual. If he leaves there will be a gaping hole.
BAKINSON: 5 Doesn't look fully fit. Drifted in and out of the game too much.
EDUN: 6 Started off very well then faded. Good going forward, not so good defensively.
MAY: 6 Great work rate as usual, but clearly frustrated. Needs better service.
LADAPO: 5 Doesn't look match fit. Some good hold up play, but lots of not so good. Needs a few games to get up to speed.
THOMAS: 7 Our best defender. We looked so much better when he came on. Should have started.
Referee: 3 Not very good at all. Fell to pieces when the pressure ramped-up. Got sending off wrong and "penalty" (but it was a long way away from where I was sat).
FIORINI: n/a Looks very rusty. We looked worse when he came on.
T.CAMPBELL: n/a Totally lacking in confidence, light-weight and poor defensively. Not a wing back though.
AMB: 5 - one great reflex save near the end, error which should have led to a penalty. Doesn't come for the ball enough, defence don't look like they trust him (Jones in particular)
REG: 4.5 - whole defence looked shaky when ran at, and static first half, statues for their 2nd. Didn't impose himself like Jones did
JONES; 4.5 - won his aerial stuff, looked ragged when they ran at us
GILLESPHEY: 4.5 - couple of loose passes but fitted in with poor defence
T.WATSON: 6 - ran and ran and won the ball back well for a few counters, just lacks the quality when he has the ball
COVENTRY: 6 - unspectacular but looked fine
DOBSON: 7 - only one really looking to play incisive passes and nearly connected a few times. Usual dobbo shift
BAKINSON: 6.5 - some dodgey touches and lost the ball too much, but passed crisply and got involved in the game. Could have scored if he got the ball out of his feet
EDUN: 8 - he was class second half, not much of a defender but my MoM. Ignoring the red card as it was him who was fouled for his second booking.
MAY: 5.5 - not his best but trying to make things happen
LADAPO: 4 - very poor today, made the wrong runs or didn't make them at all sometimes, touch let him down, couple of poor shot attempts. Chemistry is important and knowing what teammates will do so not writing him off at all
THOMAS: 6.5 - defence improved when he came on, but mainly because we were on the ball more. Our best defender today though.
Referee: 3 - big decisions all wrong, clearest penalty of all time for them and a shocker for the red card. Was waiting to give out a second yellow and wanting to give a performative yellow for diving and/or even out the clear error for his red card clouded his judgement on the pen. Game flowed okay, but didn't even look to hurry up Northampton players slowing it down second half.

REG: 6 - Rusty etc but I think there is a lot of promise here.
JONES; 5 - A couple of good things but overall he's struggling.
GILLESPHEY: 5.5 - Not bad in the air, nice to have a left-footer but needs games.
T.WATSON: 6 - Did some good things and scored a neat goal. Unlucky to be subbed.
COVENTRY: 6 - Grew into the game and should have been left on to get used to 90 mins.
DOBSON: 5.5 - Tried but is very limited when it comes to forward play.
BAKINSON: 6 - Some good bits and another one who needs games.
EDUN: 6 - Unlucky red card and a couple of nice balls into the box.
MAY: 6 - Lots of effort and a very good low centre for the first goal.
LADAPO: - 5.5 I liked the timing of his runs and had one powerful shot from distance but was all over the place in front of goal. Looked well short of confidence.
THOMAS: 8 - Really good. Got tight, was composed and looked the part.
Referee: 4 - All a bit weird in the last 20 mins. In keeping with the whole affair really.
FIORINI: n/a - Fag-paper thin and looked a typical "Academy product" - maybe he'll surprise us by getting more involved but suspect he will need to start to make any impact.
T.CAMPBELL: n/a - So indecisive. Needs to keep it simple; get distance on his runs by getting the ball out of his feet and get the ball into the box without delay.
