He was the last-surviving main cast member, you're right. But the one prior to him it was Frank Williams the Vicar.

Those two were the only links between the brilliant tv series, the great 1971 movie and the mediocre 2016 movie, with Williams reprising his role as the Vicar in the latter and Ian Lavender as Brigadier Pritchard.
