I know I shouldn’t but I’m really enjoying this, some of the comments are hilarious.

Try this. Big story in Hong Kong where non-competitive exhibition games featuring top stars are very popular.

It's poor all round. Hong Kong is football crazy and the standard of the League means these exhibition games are a rare chance to see stars of the sport they love.
The organisers guaranteed Messi would play and of course all the advertising was focused on Messi, with fans paying hundreds of pounds for tickets. Obviously injuries happen but they continued this guarantee at kick off and Messi was named on the bench to never come on.
Additionally, Inter Miami didn't really start any of their 'stars'. If Beckham is going to rip off fans and pocket millions for silly exhibition games where he doesn't want his stars to get injured in, he shouldn't set them up in the first place.1 -
Seems this becoming an issue in the MLS period. They lack the community side of the game in my opinion.
Imagine going watch your team only for the opposition player.
I had a conversation (with some Ronaldo fans) about seeing
CR7 at the Valley before he became CR7.
He didn't do much United still won 3-1 but I was there for Charlton first and a potential future Ball d'Or winner second. (You could say the same with that 0-3 cup defeat to Tottenham, but Modric ruined that game).0 -

Was that the game where he had Kish as his shadow all day and Kish all but followed him to the Man Utd dressing room, the shower and even the dunny?
EDIT: I loved Kishishev, he was my favourite player of the Premier League era. If I ever bought a Charlton shirt and had a player's name on the back it would be between Radostin and Johnny H (my all-time fav).3 -

JustFloydRoad said:Malaysian XI against Manchester United. Malaysians are big fans of MU. If either side attacked, the crowd volume rose significantly; they were supporting both sides. The final score was 0-8 to MU. Just to show they were taking it seriously, Barthez went up front second half.3
