@KBslittlesis @guinnessaddick @seth plum you are all dead to me until after these games
    Eh?
I support England in the football and Ireland in the rugby.
    It has always been thus.
Especially since the Irish insist on calling it soccer ffs……..even though football is back on the kit 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤣🤣🤣
  • No excuse not for England to win this group easily, though motivation may be a problem.
  • Seriously does anyone care about the nations league?
  • Seriously does anyone care about the nations league?
It's more interesting than the friendlies we used to get!
    Barely.

    Oops, sorry KBLS

Do you advocate that national teams only ever play EC and WC qualifiers and finals then Beds?
  • Seriously does anyone care about the nations league?
Doesn’t it contribute to you qualifying seeding for World Cup and Euros?
Yes... We'll be in Pot 2 for World Cup Qualification, so could end up being in a Group with France if we want to get to the 2026 World Cup

Less than proper tournaments, more than friendlies.

Just seen the first Ireland v England match is on my anniversary.
    Cheap night for him so.
    Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🤣🤣🤣
  • I find them interesting, it's great for smaller nations especially as an extra path towards qualification. San Marino drawn with Liechtenstein meaning a tasty tie which could see them get their first ever competitive international win

    In the football?

16 teams qualify from Europe now, so it'll almost be harder for us not to qualify.

Even if we were in a group with say France or Spain and came 2nd we'd surely still be good enough to get through the play offs.

Not entirely sure about that. What's more interesting, next months friendly with Brazil or a nations league game with Finland?

Nations league group B is pretty uninspiring let's be honest.

  • Better than friendlies, important for seeding, the players clearly care about it, some smaller nations have seen real improvement because of it.

plenty of reasons to appreciate it.
I'm not particularly interested in the nations league but I think as what you have stated it has some strong positives.
  • First Nations league was awesome, Kanes winner against Croatia and then the finals in Porto.

The last one was shit cos some of the games were in the summer when none of the players wanted to play after a long season.
  • Nations League is a very welcome replacement to meaningless friendlies.

Have booked hotels for Dublin, Athens and Helsinki.
  • Scotland beaten 2-3 at home by Poland
  • And San Marino record their first ever competitive win with a 1-0 victory over Lichtenstein.
  • And San Marino record their first ever competitive win with a 1-0 victory over Lichtenstein.
Best example of how the Nations League works
  • And San Marino record their first ever competitive win with a 1-0 victory over Lichtenstein.
Imagine being a fan who had been going to games for years, and decided to miss last nights game! That would hurt after waiting decades for a win.
  • And San Marino record their first ever competitive win with a 1-0 victory over Lichtenstein.
First win for just over 20 years and 140 games!!
  • Would be much better imo to scrap the whole thing so the EPL & EFL didnt have blank weekends which then leads to more midweek games.......which then leads to scrapping of cup replays.

The slow decline goes on. The Champions League ended the 2 leg knockout European Cup and has now denigrated to clubs having  home & away games versus completely different teams.
