Is there anyone old enough to remember Horace Batchelor with his Infra-Draw Method that 'helped' you to win on the football pools and predict results correctly? Horace came from Keynsham (that's K-e-y-n-s-h-a-m) in Bristol and sponsored programmes on Radio Luxembourg in the 1960s. Horace had a method for rating the likelihood of games ending in draws. As far as I recall, you sent him 16 games, and his Infra-Draw method whittled it down to the eight most likely to draw. If you won, you gave Horace a cut of the winnings; if you lost, bad luck. Horace couldn't lose, you'll note. I've decided to monetise the Prediction League, so send me your predictions by inbox. I'll approve them, and you give me £1 for every prediction that turns out to be fairly close. Any takers?
Anyway, we're getting down to the business end of the season, as they say, and don't Charlton fans know it. The Prediction League title is still wide open and the three Cups are down to the last 16, not that anyone takes the EFL Pizza Cup even slightly seriously. However, in less than two weeks, we will know the elite eight who will be vying for a place at Wembley in the Prediction Knock-Out Cup Final. Curiously, it's the League One predictors that are doing well in the Cups this season. It's been a tough ride the last few weeks with so many surprise results. I'll stick my neck out and say that there will be some high scores this week. Good luck as you pick your favoured three.
