  • Plan on doing this, but the thought of trusting on Avanti to get me home is putting me off
  • Purchased - we are staying in an AirB&B in Lytham St Anne’s on the Saturday night for this - curry in the evening, pay homage to Les Dawson at the statue of him Sunday morning, then off to Blackpool Pleasure for rides on the roller coasters, then train home 😃
  • Just bought our three tickets.

100%. Really decent number for first day of sales. Hopefully the early sales will encourage more to book up, like myself, for this massive game.

If we stay up, I think this will probably be our last trip to Fleeetwood for a very long time. Expecting them to be out of the football league and back in the non-league in a year or two.
  • no one loves big loud raucous away followings more than me but

3k at Reading or 300 at Bolton what difference does it make to the performance
if it made a difference Pompey wouldn’t be in this league

the fans at Bolton made a big difference to the player's performance i m o .. we were very noisy and the players showed their appreciation after our third goal went in .. the big difference twixt reading and Bolton was the fact that at Bolton Jones fielded a much changed team that was full of aggression, enthusiasm as well as skill whereas the reading no hopers seemed to have just lost the collective will to live let alone play hard football
  • thinking about this one  :*

Love a Fleetwood away game. The bar/social club at the ground is top notch.

    He's on Pico's coach.
  • Warning for anybody trying to book on the Avanti West Coast website for this game, there seems to be a technical problem.
Cheaper options are available on the LNER website for Avanti Trains on this day.

  • How difficult is to get away from Fleetwood ground after the game? Guessing catching that 5:22 train isn’t possible even in a taxi.

Bus From Blackpool North Train Station:
The No. 14 and No. 1 buses leaves Blackpool town centre every 10 minutes and pass close to the ground. Journey time is about 30 minutes.
Tram From Blackpool North Train Station: Leave the train station and head towards the coast. Trams run north to Fleetwood, passing very close to the ground (Stanley Road Stop), every 20 minutes. Journey time is approximately 40 minutes.
Rail The most convenient mainline station is Blackpool North. The station is 7.5 miles from the football ground so you’ll need to use one of the options below to complete your journey

Poulton-Le-Fylde station is slightly nearer to Fleetwood than Blackpool North, so a cab to there may be a bit quicker but if the match lasts anywhere near as long as the game at Bolton, you would have no chance of getting that train.
There is normally hardly any traffic around the ground before or after the game & street parking is very easy.

  • Just booked up. £73 return with rail card

Pretty much no chance, unless you was guaranteed to be in a taxi at about 16.45/16.50 before the end of the game.
9 miles and @20 mins on a clear road, but it won't be clear unless you leave before the end of the game. There's not much traffic tbf, but even a 5 min delay would be too much, if the game finishes @5pm.

Don’t think so. However, it was quite pricey to go direct to Preston when I booked up two weeks ago. Ended up going via Crewe for a much cheaper price.
